The Revealing

The Netherlands was right in front of Poland now. He had completely lost his breath. "I've looked for him everywhere." He sounded tired and upset.

"Uh.. no." You hear Poland's slightly panicked voice.

"What's that behind you, Poland?" You hear his hopeful voice ask.

He thinks I'm Germany! This will make it even worse! Especially if he finds out hat I might be the reason he's gone.

"Nothing important." Poland says trying to make his voice sound more stable.

The Netherlands didn't answer. Without saying anything he shoved Poland to the side.

Now you were directly staring at his face. He looked shocked.

"What is this?" He asks Poland who had lost all of the red in his face. He didn't look like he was going to answer any time soon.

You take a deep breath before answering for yourself. "My name is (Your Name). I am a human. I entered this world through a portal." You say with a steady voice.

If I show him that I'm scared he'll just decide everything for me like last time.

"Poland is this true?" The Netherlands asked with a weirdly calm voice.

"It is. Why would I lie about it?" You say, definitely not letting anyone talk for you anymore.

The Netherlands turned his gaze to you. "Is this why Germany always left us at night? Because he thought I wouldn't notice that he's been acting strangely?" He asked his voice getting a little more angry. The fact that he was tall didn't make it better. It felt like he was contemptuously staring down at you.

"Well he didn't say it that way. But I guess so."

Everybody went quiet after that. Poland had closed his eyes and sunk his head. The Netherlands kept staring down at you. You stared back. It felt like a staring contest.

"What now?" You hear Poland say. Finally the blazing stare turned away from you.

"It's coming with me. I'm calling a UN meeting." He said.

"I'm not going anywhere without (Your Name)." Poland said with a quiet threatening voice.

"Fine. But that means you're going to have to explain everything to my family." The Netherlands says shrugging.

"Don't care." Poland mumbled, more to himself than to The Netherlands.

You continue walking by the beach. "Do you have anything to do with Germany disappearing?"

"No." Poland says, getting back to his own snappy self. "Since when has he left?" He asked.

"Since Norway, Sweden, Iceland and The UK have left us again." The Netherlands said worried. "The UK seemed really upset about something."

Yeah, I think I know why.

"Maybe he's just going out for a walk." You suggest.

"Maybe." The Netherlands says, but he sounded like he was doubting it.

"So why do you have to inform the world about it?" Poland asked. "You know how some countries are going too react to this."

"Maybe you haven't realized that this is a big deal. That's why I wasn't going to take you with me, so you could attend the meeting and pretend that you have nothing to do with it." The Netherlands says.

"It's too late for that." Poland murmured sounding very dark. "But what about (Your Name)? They are going to be in big danger."

"I can look after myself." You add.
