Mornings

You get up to stretch your legs. "I'm going inside. Maybe I will get some sleep after all." You say to Romania.
He looks at you and then gets up as well. "Vin cu tine." He says and follows you.

Climbing up and down the house with the gutter was a piece of cake. You had started doing that since you were four. The gutter was like a bridge to freedom for you. When your parents were asleep or downstairs or working, you'd just leave to the woods this way.

You enter your window and nod to Romania, who entered his room as well. He smiles, then he disappears into his own room.

You lay down, but you feel alone. You look at the locked door.

I have to be able to trust them if I want the life with them in one house.

You get up and unlock the door. Then you go back to sleep.

"What do we do?" Canada's voice rung in your head.
"We have to go back. We have to save Turkey. And warn the others." Iraq declares.
"Yes. The darkness is spreading faster than we thought it would." Sweden agrees.
"But, why did he die?" The Philippines asks. "How can we survive if we don't even know how?"

Nobody answers. The room was quiet.

"Maybe from breathing it in?" You hear Brazil suggest. "It did come out of his lungs and he had trouble breathing."

More silence,

It was unbearable.

If this is a dream, then why do I have the feeling that all of this is completely realistic? That they should see me. I know that I'm dreaming. It's a lucid dream, but I can't control anything. And I don't like calling this a vision. I don't believe in stuff like that. But what is this then? What kind of sick game is my brain putting me through?

"We have to try to save the others. We have to tell the others to watch out." Is the last thing you hear.

Your eyes snap open. You see Romania waiting by the other side of your room, who unfortunately dozed off.

"Romania what are you doing here?" You ask, making him jump.
"I was waiting for you." He says.
"For how long?"
He shrugs."I don't know."
You sigh and get up. You get your clothes to change and direct him that he was supposed to leave.
He sighs and does so, leaving you alone to think about your dream.

They used to turn into reality. Is there maybe a chance that this is happening to them right now? Or is it just that I miss them? I have nightmares very often, so it's no wonder.

You leave the room. Everyone except for Romania was still asleep. You walk up to the couch and lay down. Romania walks up to you, completely tired. He lays down, sighs and closes his eyes, dozing off and leaning his head unintentionally on your shoulder, just like in the bus.

It feels so long ago. So much has happened since then. Now you were far away from the other Countries. They were endangered. And we're not even close to finding a solution on how to get back.

Romania closeness was comforting. You lean back on head and close your eyes as well.

If I loose them, there'll be nothing for me anymore. I have to protect them with my life. Otherwise my life won't be worth living anymore anyway.

"Excuse me." You wake up to see a glaring Russian looking down at you.

"Yeah what's up?" You ask sleepily, nudging Romania's head to get him off your shoulder.
