Jamal sat in his room as he threw more popcorn into his mouth.

He stared at the television across him,but he wasn't paying any attention to what it was displaying.

He had this urge to play basketball, but that was not all.

There was also this urge to see Temi.

And to breathe in the good aura she brought along.

Me:
Hey,you wanna meet at the court?
                                  -J

He dropped his phone on the table across him and actually started to pay attention to the TV.

About six minutes later,he heard a vibration from his phone.

He picked it up and read Temi's text.

Sorry,I can't play. Cramps.
                                -T

Oh, that's fine. And, sorry about your.......cramps

He sighed as he got up. He grabbed his basketball, shrugged on a hoodie and left his room.

On the way out of his house,he grabbed some water.

He checked the time
11:58pm.

Was the driver gonna be available?

He walked outside to see the driver seated in front of the car. Dozing off.

The drivers had shifts.

Jamal's dad always wanted an available driver, even in the midnight because Jamal used to have a lot of health issues when he was growing up.

He still does, but they have subsided.

He would just start complaining about stomach aches and all.

At a point,he had ulcer, but it went away after a while.

Jamal knew the basketball court was a bit far from his house,. But it wasn't that far.

He tip toed away from the driver,in order not to wake the poor man up.

"Jamal?" The husky voice said.

Jamal turned around to see the driver who was just dozing off.

"Where to?" The driver asked him.

Jamal made his basketball more visible, and the man nodded as he saw it.

"So you wanna walk all the way there?" The driver asked him.

"You were asleep" Jamal said.

"Then you should have woken me up," the man said and stood up. He walked towards the car. "After all, that's what I'm paid for" the man chuckled as he got into the car.

Jamal got into the car also.

It was a silent drive, and Jamal liked it.

In no time,they arrived.

He got down with his stuff.

"Call me when you are ready to leave" the man said and smiled at Jamal.

Jamal nodded and strolled into the court.
He put on his headphones as music was blaring into his ears from all angles.

He began to play the ball as he rapped the lyrics of ArrDee's new song.

He felt life flow through him as sweat curdled up on his forehead.
