Marina Vettle

Looking around to my room gave me so much joy, as I saw all my belongings were almost fully packed. I spent all morning with Julia's help packing my clothes, which let me have in there the moment they moved me to this level. Today was my last day in the hospital as I had spent around a month there, and I had been improving.

During the last month, I didn't have any needs or thoughts about using any kind of substances. It also had been around three weeks since I had the urge to self-harm, not only because I didn't have any access to any sharp object, but also because I realized, thanks to the sessions with Doctor Lee, that the way I used it only worked for hours, but not forever.

And lastly about the eating, I actually did gain some weight, which was visible in my face, as my cheeks were more full. Most of my ribs didn't show unless I lifted my arms, and my legs were thicker. I was happier. I looked better. My hair looked more shiny and it was getting thicker. I was getting back my defined waves.

I also had my last appointment with Doctor Lee, which made me so happy during the last session when he told me I was ready to go back to normal life, and that I would be being discharged that day, right before lunch. It was currently nine in the morning. I was so excited to make an end to the time there, that I packed everything before breakfast.

"Are you excited to be leaving this place?" Julia asked, while she laid on her bed, while rearranging her books once again.

"I am." I smiled, while nodding. "I'm actually super nervous because I feel like a new person, at the same time I haven't changed much." I explained. "But something I have noticed is that I have changed in the way I see myself." I said. "I don't see myself as a weak person anymore." I explained. "And I also don't feel the need to reassure myself that everything is real. I understood during my time here that I can have bad days, and good days." I nodded.

"That's amazing to hear, Marina." She smiled, sitting down next to me.

"I also stopped hating food. It still takes effort to not throw it up, but as not much as before." I said. "I'm actually starting to enjoy food, and the feeling it leaves after it." I smiled, feeling proud of myself for being able to open up.

"Well, now you can start dripping your rich boy's bank account." She wiggled, "I can tell he won't mind." She smiled. "By the way, who was the other guy who came with your man?" She asked. "I saw you hugging a very tall guy with dark hair, but there was a very, extremely handsome man also. He hugged you as well." She looked to the front. "You know, light brown hair, glasses." She explained, narrowing her eyes trying to remember him.

I laughed. "I do know him." I nodded. "He is Giovanni's and I's friend." I smiled.

"What's his name?" She asked. "Don't tell me he is also Italian?" Her eyes went wide.

"He is." I nodded. "His name is Angelo. He is an informatic engineer." I explained, knowing he used to help Giovanni with everything related to the field, around the mafia.

"Well, damn." She gasped. "Handsome, intelligent and I'm sure he is also rich." She smiled. "Can you introduce me?" She smiled, making me laugh. "Don't laugh at me. I'm joking. I'm too afraid to talk with a man. I am still in the process of not seeing all of them toxic and manipulative like my ex." She explained, shaking her head. "I will get it." She said after a knock was heard on our door.

"Good morning, ladies." One of the nurses in the section smiled. "Breakfast time." She announced. "I see you are excited to leave, Ms. Vettle." She smiled, making me nod. "I'm glad." She nodded. "By the way, Nick wanted to talk with you." She pointed outside. I nodded, while putting on my shoes.
