Marina Vettle

One year later

"You can open your eyes now." The make-up artist said. I opened them, and looked at the reflection of myself. I saw the make-up that was perfectly done, which consisted of light smokey eyes, mascara, perfectly applied light findation, eyebrows and neutral lips. Going with it, marked natural waves on my hair.

But I didn't see only the make-up, I also saw the Marina that I had worked for years now. I was getting married to the love of my life. But the most exciting part of all this, it was that I had been clean of drugs for over a year.

I couldn't believe it myself that I had come so far. I also finished my first year of university, and we were living in Rome, because we both decided that it was the best for both of us. Not only for my studies, but also for connections of Giovanni's businesses, and the control of the mafia. And that most of his family lived there, and it was closer to my family - well, easier to access an airport.

"What do you think?" The make-up artist asked.

"I love it." I nodded. "It's perfect." I smiled. "Thank you."

"Don't thank me. It's easy to do my job when I have a good canvas." He smiled. "You have no idea what ages I have done this to." He shook his head.

"Are you done, babe?" Gabriel asked, which was Matteo's husband. During the times of the fitting, the designing stuff, and all, they told me they had been married for three years, and they were in the process of adopting a child from eastern Europe. They were also party partners with Giovanni during his university years, and that was why they were doing all this.

"Yep, we are all done." Matteo nodded.

I stood up, and walked towards the small pedestal in front of a floor length mirror. Gabriel grabbed the bag where the dress he designed was in. He pulled it out revealing the white dress, with corset like top and low sweetheart neck, that had fabric made of lace over it. WIth the same design of lace, it made the first layer of the floor length skirt, and over the lace there was another layer without design, leaving the right leg, so the lace was visible.

With the help of both of them, I stepped in it, and then Gabriel sipped it up. I looked up, feeling the tears in my eyes.

"Hey! No crying yet," Matteo pointed at me. "It looks beautiful." He hugged my side, trying not to step on the dress. They helped me off the pedestal. Gabriel handed me the Valentino white high heels that had platform on the front, and a heel of 15 cm - having a tall fiance had to have some advantages.

They did the last few touch ups, when there was a knock on the door. Matteo opened the door, revealing my grandfather, who was going to be walking me down the aisle, and Amanda, who had a little light pink dress, as she was the flower girl. There weren't any bridesmaids, nor groomsmen, as it wasn't typical in Italy, nor in Germany to have them.

I turned around fully, and smiled. I saw my grandfather with tears in his eyes, which brought my own into my eyes. "You look wonderful, my little Marina." He shook his head. "You are not so little any more, huh?" He wiped under his eyes.

"You look like an absolute princess." Amanda exclaimed, stepping closer to my grandpa.

"You are going to make me cry." I fanned my face, not wanting to.

"Yeah, let's not cry just yet." He laughed. "It's time, little one." I hooked my arm around his, and we stopped in front of the door, as they closed when Amanda walked in, throwing the petals. "Are you ready?" Grandpa asked.

"I'm super nervous." I nodded, eagerly.

The doors opened, and the orchestra started playing the music, while I walked through the hundreds of people who were invited. During the past year, through my grandparents, I started meeting family members after so many years without contact, which all attended. But not my parents. I thought they weren't deserving enough for me to contact them. I had my family, and I didn't need them in it.

While we approached the altar, I looked around, seeing family and friends standing up, while smiling. We decided to leave an empty seat which had Chris' picture in it.

I looked to the front, and saw Giovanni wiping a tear under his eye, while he smiled widely. I blinked fast, trying to blink them away, but one ended up slipping. When we reached the altar, grandpa handed my hand to Giovanni, kissing me on the cheek before taking his seat next to my grandma.

The wedding went on as expected, with the sound of the waves of the Mediterranean sea in the background, as the Sun started to set down slowly, while the wind flew around us gently.

After a lot of tears, and laughs, and more tears after our short, yet sweet speeches, Giovanni grabbed the ring that rested on a red cushion that Ludgiw was holding. He slipped it on my finger, while holding my shaky hand. I handed the bouquet of flowers to Katharina, and grabbed the ring from the cushion that Vinzenz was holding.

"Now, I pronounce husband and wife." The officiant announced. "You can kiss the bride." He smiled.

Giovanni grabbed both sides of my face, smacking his lips against mine. I hugged his shoulders, and all the cheers seemed to disappear, as the kiss started to be more gentle. He placed one of his hands on my waist, pulling closer to him. I smiled into the kiss, and he rested his forehead against mine.

"I love you, my beautiful wife." He kissed my forehead. We straightened up, and everyone kept on cheering. We walked down the aisle, while everyone started throwing rice into the air. We walked out, walking up the stairs, as the venue was being held in the same place.

Giovanni opened the door, and I squealed, jumping in his arms. I kissed him harshly. "Hello, Mr. Liotti." I giggled, feeling a lot of energy being released right then.

"Hello, Mrs. Liotti." He smirked, hugging me tightly.

"We are married." I jumped around.

"We are married, Tesoro." He nodded, sitting on the bed, pulling me on his lap. I gently placed the flowers down, and hugged his neck. "Now you are officially mine. Same way I'm all yours." He kissed my neck. "I already was though." He smirked. "I love you, Tesoro," he looked me in the eyes, lovingly.

"I love you more."

"Let's not argue on the day of our wedding."

The wedding went by so quickly, I wished I could have gone back, and repeated it all over again. We had our first dance as a married couple, and then everyone had dinner, and mingelled around, and we all partied until the Sun went up again. Knowing this would happen, we also ordered breakfast, so it could calm the drunken people's stomach.

Giovanni pulled me closer to him, as people started to leave. "Let's go to our honey moon, and fuck little bunnies." He whispered into my ear. I hit his chest, making him laugh. I rested my head against his chest. "I love you with every cell of my body."

"I'm addicted to you, and I will always be."

The end.
