Cuthbert's POV

The sound of the large wooden doors closing behind us coupled with the bright fluorescent lights that hung above us made me feel all the more nervous. I felt his hands wrap around my waist, followed by soft kisses along my neck.
"Hey, stop that"
I protested smiling at him over my shoulder

He took my hands in his then pulled me down the hall. All this was easy for him anyway, He was the next Beta of one of the mightiest Wolf pack in the world, these halls were like his second home.
I followed behind him without protest, I expected to meet a room filled with Older werewolves that made up the pack council but there was just one, seating at the head of the table radiating of power and elegance

Alpha Drulock

"Drulock, this is my mate"
Elijah announced as we stepped closer, I bowed my head

He was as stunning as described in the legends, before today I have only had the privilege of seeing him from a distance during pack festivals, this was my first time being this close to him

"Alpha, it is a pleasure to meet you"
I said, extending my arm for a shake like I was pre oriented.
Alpha Drulock was rarely ever with us at this branch of the Phoenix pack but all that is about to change now that he wants to make here the new head quarters.

"Oh so you are the bond breaker and mate to my future Beta"
Drulock spoke
"Elijah won't shut up about you"
He said with a little laugh smiling at Elijah who was smiling back

"He is also one of the finest hunters that we have, topping his team. A real killing machine this one"
Elijah sounded proud as he gave my shoulders a soft squeeze, letting his hands slide too low until it rested on my buttocks. He honestly wasn't helping in making me less nervous

Drulock nodded
"Indeed, with a rare gift like that he's almost match for you Elijah"

"He's my mate for a reason"
Elijah wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me closer to himself. I was starting to get tired of his display of possessiveness in front of Alpha Drulock.

The sounds of the doors being locked again caught my attention and when I turned i was met with a young werewolf, a bit younger than myself, she was dressed in a bright red dress and was escorted in by the pack Doctor
"Here she is"
He announced

"Good afternoon Alpha"
The young lady bowed her head I watched how Drulocks expression brightened the moment he heard her voice then he tapped his lap twice shifting his chair backwards, the young lady hurried to his side then literally threw herself on his arm
"Finally I meet her, isn't she a beauty?"
He asked sniffing her hair and I nodded...a little bit too fast

This must be his new Mate...

It's no news that Drulock changes his mate every hundred years but I never expected his current mate to be so young, she looks...unprepared but that was none of my business.

"Lucka! Come here!"
We heard a voice yell from the entrance followed by a little wolf running into the room

He soon transformed into a young boy and out of the concrete floor of the meeting room he grew a peace lily then handed it to Drulocks young mate who accepted it chuckling before running to hide under the table

"I am sorry Alpha, Lucka has just been hard to control lately"
The wolf that came in after the boy apologized but Drulock waved it off

"Don't worry about it Amara, I do not expect anything less from the next generation gamma, you know they are peculiar for their speed"
Drulock said.
Amara then picked up the boy and they both exited the room.
