Chapter 10: Blood

Asher's POV

I tried my best to act natural when I returned to the barber shop. I needed to speak with Raven but I don't think they would let me if they knew just how much of a mess I was inside.
If Jacob left the house the day after I did to find me I am afraid that he might just have followed me down to the mansion we saw Raven...and since he hasn't returned yet I fear the worse

"So how did it go?"
Lucka

"You know, what you'd expect. My Mum is well...very much upset but in the end I got her to see from my point of view, I told her 'Mum I need my space I'm becoming a man now' she was a bit reluctant at first but she agreed"
I said, mustering up the fakest smile I could at that moment

Jacob always said that I was a horrible liar but I like to think that he's just smart. Lucka stared at me for a little too long making me nervous, I could feel my palms become sweaty

"That's great man!"
He exclaimed resting his hand on my shoulder
"You see I told you not to worry"

"Yeah, I should have listened"

"How are you feeling, did you get the pills you went for?"
Lucka asked and I nodded bringing out the orange translucent bottle from my pocket
"That is good, I must admit what happened earlier really threw me off"

My chest still hurts like hell and I've taken a bunch of the pills already, enough to kill me from an overdose

"you need to take your pills as much as He needs to give them to you"
My Moms words echoed in my head.
What if it wasn't the pills that calms me down, what if it has always been Jacob...?

"Hey man, has Raven had breakfast yet?"
I asked, trying to make it sound casual though there was nothing casual about me asking about Raven

"No, that's where I am headed"
Lucka responded

"Do you mind if I be the one to take him breakfast"
Luckas brows drew closer in confusion
"It's just that he was there when I had the convulsion, I just wanted to show him that I am okay now...he looked concern"
I said, burying my sweaty hands inside my hoodie.

"I don't think that will be possible man, Cuthbert thinks that you should be relieved of that duty for now. Until we are sure that Raven doesn't have anything to do with what happened to you"
Lucka said and my heart sank, I needed to see Raven. I need him to contact his mate, to be sure that Raven isn't lost somewhere in his territory.
Lucka was about leaving but I held his arm with a little bit too much force
"Just this once, for the last time so I can properly say my good byes"

Lucka stared at me confused, as-if trying to read my expression.
So much for not acting off...
The faint purple glow appeared in the place my hands met his like it did with Raven so o quickly retracted it.

Lucka finally signed, giving in
"Fine, but you have to make it a quick no staying in there longer that necessary to chit chat you hear me, and this will be the last time"
He pressed emphasis on last time.

"Thanks man"
I wanted to pull him in for a quick embrace but I fear that the glow would return. Right now I can't touch anyone, until I figure out what the fuck is happening

When I stepped into the basement I could tell that Raven was a little excited to see me, he stood up from the bed then hurried to where I stood
"Are you okay?"
He asked concerned and I nodded, looking behind me to check if the door was properly shut

"We need to get you out of here right now"
I said putting the tray to the side

"My Brother Jacob followed us down to your pack the night we abducted you and he hasn't returned till now, I think your mate has him kept captive or something or he is lost somewhere along the way i don't know, I am going to find my brother, Cuthbert doesn't want me coming in here anymore that is why you need to leave now-"
