"Hey, y/n!"

I hear a voice call out from behind me. I turn around to see a boy i've never seen before.

"Hi? Do you need something," i ask politely. "I was wondering if you could ask annabeth something for me," he asked me.

Of course. Should've expected that.

"Sure.. what is it," i ask him.

———

That was not the first or last time someone has asked me to ask annabeth something for them. Or if i could do something.

Nothing against her of course. She's my sister. We've been family before this whole camp thing anyways. I mean there's not many differences between us, but what actually made her different? Was that she did everything just better.

Archery? Better.

Swimming? Better.

Sparring? Better.

Confidence? Better.

Talking? Better.

Breathing? Better.

I can't help myself but feel jealous cause i whenever i find one thing i would be really good at and feel proud, she would do better at it. One time she asked me what i was doing and i told her i was baking. She tried it. She did better. Better than me when i first tried it.

What can't she do?

I'm going insane just thinking about this.

My thoughts came crashing as soon i felt myself crash to the ground. What a coincidence.

"Oh my bad, y/n," the voice say.

I look up to see percy. I think him and annabeth had a thing a year ago. Annabeth wouldn't stop talking about him. Then she stopped. She wouldn't tell me why.

She just said, "it's for the better."

He helps me back up to my feet.

"Thanks," i say kind of plainly.

"What's gotten in your head? You're normally observant," he chuckles.

I was slightly surprised by that. How would he know that?

"nothing really.. just a busy day that's all," i smile at him. I was about to walk away when he pulled me back lightly.

"Sorry, but if you don't mind me asking-"

I sigh, "no, i'm not gonna ask annabeth anything for you."

"what?" he asked puzzled.

"sorry. habit. continue," i apologized awkwardly.

he shook his head regaining his thoughts. He laughed shortly before continuing, "do people always come up to you about annabeth?"

I groan, "don't even get me started on it. I love her, but she needs to like leave those bells outside her cabin if someone needs her."

We began walking to who knows where. All we did was talk. We asked questions for each other and played games to get to know another better. It was kind of nice. I was happy it wasn't all about annabeth. I kind of want to ask him about what happened, but it was a year ago.
