⎯⎯⎯ 𝐈𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄,

ISABEL SLUNG HER PURSE ONTO HER SHOULDER JUST AS A KNOCK SOUNDED AT HER DOOR. She ran to open it, greeted with the sight of a smiling Kate with a bouquet of flowers in her hands. Taking them from her hands, Isabel pulled Kate inside her room and planted a sloppy kiss to her cheek.

"They're beautiful," Isabel said as she admired both the girl in front of her and the flowers. "Thank you, Kate." She walked over to the vase full of water on her bed side table, removing the old flowers Kate had gotten her and replacing them with the new ones.

Kate came up behind her, wrapping her arms around her midriff. "Are you sure you still want to go? I won't be mad if you're not ready."

Isabel shook her head, turning around in Kate's arms to face her. "He is the least of my worries right now, I promise. I just want to go out with you."

Kate smiled. "Then let's go."

Isabel still had no idea where they were going or what they were doing, but nonetheless she didn't question things and followed Kate out of the dorm. She made sure to lock the door, as Gabbie was at her boyfriends for the night and she wasn't sure how long she would be gone.

As soon as they got into Kate's car, Isabel immediately plugged her phone up to the AUX cord, pressing play on her Clairo playlist. "Wow, I'm surprised we're not listening to Taylor Swift," Kate teased, shifting the car into reverse and backing out of the parking spot she was in.

Isabel shrugged, "I'm in a Clairo mood."

"I'm always in a Clairo mood."

The two of them sat in comfortable silence as they drove down the busy roads of Iowa City, listening to the music playing and taking in their surroundings. Eventually, they made it out of the city limits and civilization slowly began to fade. Isabel decided not to question things, however; she would go anywhere with Kate.

The feeling of Kate's hand coming down on her thigh made Isabel snap her attention from the fields of grass over to the blonde beside her. Kate looked extremely good as she drove with one hand, eyes on the road and her other hand squeezing Isabel's leg. All Isabel could do was look at her.

"You're staring, Is," Kate smiled, never taking her eyes off the empty road, but she could feel the way Issie's eyes were burning into the side of her head.

"Yeah, well, you're pretty. Why wouldn't I?"

"Hey, I'm supposed to be complementing you, not the other way around," Kate said, moving her hand up and down Isabel's thigh. Isabel sat up straight in her seat, a spark running through her body at the reminder of the contact.
