"THE LAS VEGAS ACES SELECT KATE MARTIN." Both Jada and Isabel let out a short scream as the rest of the crowd erupted into cheers. Kate smiled big, her heart pounding as she stood up from her seat to hug everyone surrounding her. Her main reason of being here was to support Caitlin, though she had been crossing her fingers throughout the entire night that her name would get called.
Jan raced over to her, enveloping her niece into a giant hug. She whispered something to Kate before letting her go. Bluder was next, of course, pride written all over her face as she pulled her former player into her.
Isabel rocked back and forth impatiently, waiting for Kate to swoop her off her feet. Though, Kate side stepped her and went down the line starting from Tania. Gabbie couldn't stop the tears from pouring down her face as she laughed at something Kate said to her going in for a hug.
Next was Jada, who basically picked Kate up from how much excitement she had coursing through her veins. "I love you, Katie baby," She screamed, smushing Kate's face in between her hands. Kate laughed, before finally moving on to her girlfriend.
Isabel giggled as Kate lifted her into the air. She pressed a small kiss to the girls forehead as she placed her back on the ground, a chorus of 'aws' coming from all around them. Isabel felt her cheeks flush at all of the attention as she fell into Jadas side to allow Kate to pass back by her.
All three of the girls pulled out their phones, recording Kate as she walked on the stage. She smiled at the woman at the podium, taking her hand and grabbing the other half of the Aces jersey to hold up for the picture.
Jada squealed once again, pulling the girls beside her into her sides. They were all so happy for Kate. Of course, they had been happy for Caitlin too, but it was just a tad bit more exciting when Kate's name had been called. They knew Caitlin was more than likely going first pick, but they didn't know if Kate was going at all.
"My girl got her chance," Isabel said, tears pooling from her eyes as she watched Kate join Holly for an interview. This had been all Kate had wanted and she had gotten it.
ISABEL'S FACE TWISTED UP AS THE BURNING LIQUID SLID DOWN HER THROAT. Everyone around her cheered as she slammed the shot glass back onto the table in front of her. They were mid game of Do or Drink and she had passed on taking off her top, much to Kate's pleasure.
