Layla pov.

Yes it was midnight by the time we got to Chelsea's tiny apartment.

Chelsea carried my suitcase to my room.

And I felt ashamed for being a burden to someone so nice.

"No no no, let me carry my own stuff.
Gosh I'm basically living off you and now have turned you into my Butler."

I said making to grab my suitcase.

Chelsea side stepped me smiling.

"Hey, I got you. You seem to forgot that I work out.
It's all good, allow your friend to support you."

Said Chelsea managing a small genuine smile.

"Thank you so much Chelsea, I swear I won't forget your kindness."

I promised in gratitude and warmth.

Everyone who knows me knows I don't get along with my homophobic mother.

We grew apart when I came out, long story short.

My dad is her little puppy that listens to her without question.

He was the one who threw my clothes out.

It was a year ago right after high school graduation.

I got drunk and had sex with Veronica in my bedroom.

My father walked in on us and didn't look disgusted.

It was only after he had called my mother and she hit both of us.

She told my father to throw us out and he did so,
Chasing us out into the Streets completely naked.

He threw our clothes at us and shut the door at my face,
After making it clear that I was no longer part of the family.

My heart never forgave that but I had Veronica.

I got a job waitressing as soon as I moved in with Veronica.

Living with her was a completely different story.

She immediately turned me into her errends girl to which I didn't mind.

Than one day introduced me to her best friend Chloe.

Than she asked me for an open relationship to which I refused.

To which she threatened to breakup with me.

Insisting that they would only be friends with benefits.

I still refused and she went behind my back and still did it.

Having faith that it's just lust, I let it slide.

Fast forward to this morning, where I found evidence of Veronica cheating on me.

I confronted her with the nudes and saucy messages on her phone,
Demanding an explanation.

Imagine my surprise when Veronica kicked me out like a dog.

I owe Chelsea my life, convenient how my other friends didn't pick up when I needed them.

"Layla? Are you okay?
Are you crying again?"

Asked Chelsea looking at me with worry before hugging my shoulders.

I sobbed quietly into her chest and felt embarrassed for being this emotional,
In front of her.

"I'll go run you a bath. I'll fill the bath tub with essential oils, salts and flowers."

Said Chelsea before stroking my hair soothingly.

Her face was so close and She is the prettiest girl I've ever seen.
