Chapter 11

Rhaelan POV

I woke up on the couch of my daddy's office. I knew it was his cause his name was on the desk. I rubbed my sore eyes once more before I got up and opened the door to find a large man guarding it from the other side. Fear coursed through me before I slammed the door shut and went to hide in the corner. I wanted to cry but I was fresh out of tears. With my newly obtained hearing I could hear someone else moving towards the office to come in. I needed to disappear. I whimpered and ran for daddy's desk, hiding under it. I didn't know who it was but I clung to myself, trembling. When the person walked in and came around the desk, I looked up and saw it was daddy. He looked like he had been in the woods for hours. I knew he saw me but I didn't move to hug him like a usually did. He blames me for losing mommy... I know it. I hugged myself once more and trembled as I couldn't help but to silently cry.

"Don't cry Rhaelan." Daddy said softly as he leaned down and picked me up, sitting me into his lap.

I looked up at him, eyes wide in surprise as he gave me a broken smile. My lip trembled and I hugged him tightly, sobbing.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry I made mommy go away! I don't want mommy to go away! I want mommy here with us!" I cried out as I clung onto him.

I felt him hug me tightly and gently rub my head.

"Don't talk like that. You aren't the reason mommy is gone..." By the way his voice scratched, I could tell he had been crying for hours.

"I wish mommy didn't save me so mommy can still be here!" I cried, but I was shocked when a stinging sensation erupted on my cheek.

Daddy looked down at me near tears and he then pulled me back into his embrace. "Don't say that ever! Zan saved you because we life you and I will not tolerate you talking that way!"

I couldn't help but to shrink away from him but he held me firmly against him anyway. I wanted to tell him about mommy, but I promised I wouldn't. Daddy picked me up and carried me out of the office and downstairs. We walked down into the living room and passed by the window but Daddy froze and stared outside. I followed his gaze and saw a pure white wolf siting outside but no one else noticed it. It stood up and started walking towards the woods and Daddy shot outside with me still in his arms.

"Zan!" He screamed out, causing me to cover my ears. When he couldn't go fast enough, he set me on the ground and shifts to his wolf, his clothes ripping. He took off, leaving me behind.

I whined a little and then got up, trying to shift as I though about a wolf really hard. Even though I was young and was actually human, the new power mommy gave me allowed for me to shift into a small pup.

I bounded after daddy, not able to catch up but I still tried. When got into the woods and followed daddy's scent I found him sitting in the clearing, laying down. I whimpered an ran over, seeing he was asleep. I crouched next to him, not wanting to leave him as I cried.

A white wolf came into the clearing in a ghost like form but it wasn't mommy. More crowded the clearing and I was picked up by my scruff and started to be carried away from daddy. I yelled and screeched.

"Daddy! Daddy wake up!" I yelled for him and it seemed to wake him up. He snarled at the ghost like wolves, standing his grounds

"Give me my pup!" I heard him snarl and there was an echo of growls all around us.

"You don't deserve this child. So blessed and you just sat there and left her as you ran after your so called mate!" The wolves spoke as one, and I was carried out of the clearing before anything else happened.

Averick's POV
---

My heart sank as the wolves started to circle me and then I snarled, trying to bite them but I passed through them so easily.

"Who are you?! Give me my pup back!" I snapped at the wolves and they just snickered.

"We are the followers of the moon goddess! You shall not speak to us like that!" Suddenly they began to run around me and I wa assaulted with a whirlwind of bites an scratches. I couldn't hold up against a force I can't fight and I collapsed to the ground in pain. They formed one large wolf and sneered down at me before they started to engulf me. This is the end... I saw a right light flash around me but I couldn't stay away long enough to be able to see what had happened. One thing I did know.

Mate.
