Prologue

"Run"

That's the only thing I could think in this moment. Nothing else mattered.

The foggy breeze whipped in my face , as the jagged gravel cut my feet.

But I didn't care, I needed to get home.

I've been running for what feels like hours , but I knew it was only minutes.

I checked google maps on my phone to see how far the town was.

"Shit" I cursed under my breath.

I had 7 more miles to go and I could feel myself getting weaker.

My feet were getting blisters and the cold breeze made me shiver.

Running was never my cup of tea.

I sat down to take a quick rest, as my phone started ringing.

It was my mother.

I decided I needed to answer.

"Hello..?" I whispered into my phone.

" Avery Rose Taylor , where the hell are you , it's 11:00 at night"

I knew I was in trouble when she used my middle name.

"Mom I'm okay ill be home soon"

"Did something happen between you and Ethan?" She questioned

I paused for a moment to think of an excuse, if she found out she would explode

"Um no... We just lost track of time , and were leaving soon"

hopefully she will believe me and I can get out of this nightmare.

"Okay ... But I want you home soon, bye"

she seemed a little unsure but I guess it worked.

And with that I got up and started the 7 mile run to town.

It would be a long night...
