It had been a long night and I don't know why I'm doing this. I am fully aware that Janine haven't exactly been that nice to me since we first saw each other, but her cry seemed like she really needed help. And no, not the type of help they give in mental institutions.

I was walking through the neighborhood-wait, let me rephrase that part. I was running, flailing my arms everywhere while checking my back half of the time if there was a gang who'd probably pounce at me and leave me in a dark alley bleeding to death. To say I was scared is an understatement. I was so scared that I looked like I could shit my pants any freaking moment.

It took me 10 minutes of running like a mad woman on crack. And it turns out that Janine's house was just on the other side of the street.

Great job, Elena. I thought sarcastically.

I knocked on the front door and waited.

And waited.

But no one answered. I sighed and decided to knocked again. But before I could even raise my hand. I was yanked and pulled, which I'm guessing into the backyard. The person covered my head with a dirty piece of rag and I started screaming but a hand covered my mouth. I started kicking everywhere but it wasn't any much help.

The pulling, grabbing and yanking stopped and when the person removed the rag from my head. I was facing someone.

A girl.

Janine.

Once she saw my facial expression. She smirked. "How are you Elena?" She spoke in a very cunning voice.

Holy shit I'm face to face with a lunatic. I thought.

"Janine what the hell is wrong with you?! I don't know what your problem is but I bet it's hard to pronounce!" I screamed.

" A little bit of crying and you fully believed me! Unbelievable!" She laughed humorlessly. "You want to know what my problem is Elena? You are too nice."

"What-" I protested.

"Go ahead and offend me." She said challenging me.

"You're crazy."

"See? You fail."

"Yeah. Just like your mother's birth control!" I retorted.

Bad move Elena. I scolded myself.

After those words left my mouth, a hand came flying to my face.

"You little shit. How dare you speak to me like that. God! Why does Harry like you?!" She swore."

A smirk started to apear on my face. "So that's what this is about?"

"What?! No-" She denied.

"I hope you know that punishing me is as useless as a white crayon." I stated.

"You took Harry away from me!" She screamed furiously in my face.

"Well you know what?! Too bad! Because you can't lose something you never had!" I screamed with the same furious expression.

Again, bad move Elena! I scolded myself one last time.

She glared at me for a few seconds before she turned her head and faced the guy who dragged me here. "James. Do your job."

Without another word, she left.

My heart began beating so fast as I took in the guy standing exactly 2 feet away from me. It felt like my heart was going to fall off my chest. He was wearing a black muscle shirt which emphasizes his extremely large muscles. He looked like he was about 6'2 and bulky in a way only footballers are. His hair was a dirty blonde mess and when I glanced at him, my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach.

I'm going to die.

I know that I should probably make a run for it but my whole body felt like it was made of jelly.

"Hey hot stuff," James breathed in my neck. His body was towering over me. I was shaking so hard that I didn't notice tears spilling from my eyes until he pointed it out.

"Aww. Has the little girl been crying?" James cooed as his hands cupped my face. Not gently, might I add.

"Get away from me!" I shouted but it sounded more like a squeak. He grabs me by the arm and pulled me closer into his body.

His hand traveled up from my hips slowly to my neck. I squeezed my eyes shut as he placed his lips on my neck, licking it in a sickening way.

"Please don't hurt me," I pleaded.

"Aww trust me it's not going to heart, in fact I think you'll be enjoying it." His eyes darken with lust. His hands started tugging at the hem of my shirt but before he could lift it up I heard a very familiar voice.

Someone had found me.

"I suggest you leave that lovely girl alone mate," Zayn warned.

"Or what? You're going to blind my eyes with your perfect hair?" James looked up, his eyes fumed with anger for disturbing his 'fun'.

Suddenly, Zayn's loud laugh surrounded the backyard. "Y-you think I have perfect hair? Aw thanks man. Many people thinks I have perfect hair too. I tend to do that, you know with my breathtaking hotness and all but I'm sorry to break it to you- I'm not interested in you like that." Zayn decided to aggravate him even more so he winked.

"W-what-" James stuttered.

"I'm sorry man. I really am. I just don't like you like that.. if you catch my drift." Zayn implied.

I stuggled to keep myself from laughing. It's so hard to believe that only minutes ago that I was praying for my life and now I just can't refrain myself from smiling.

James' face was red with fury. "Are you implying I'm gay?!"

"Aren't you?!" Zayn faked gasped.

"What the hell man! No!"

"Good. because it would have been awkward for me to do this." But before James could react. Zayn kneed him in the crotch.

James was back after a few moments . "You're going to pay for that you little-"

Zayn winked at him. "Less talk, more fighting yeah?"

James tried to punch Zayn. Keyword? Tried. A few minutes or so, a sleeping James was lying on the backyard grass.

"Zayn," I whispered. My voice was barely audible.

"Hey it's okay," Zayn pulled me into his chest as he wrapped his arms around me protectively. "He won't be touching you anymore. It's over."

He removed his hoodie and brought it up to my face "Here," I took it from his hands.

"Thank you," I gave him a small smile as I pulled the hoodie over my head to wear.

"It's just a hoodie, Elena. It's not like I gave you my kidney. No need to say thank you."

I surprised him with a hug. "Not for that dummy. For saving my life."

"Uh you're welcome. I guess." He said slowly.

We stayed there holding onto each other for what seemed like a decade. Slowly we began to pull away from each other, untangling our bodies from each other. Both of our faces were centimeters apart and I can feel his breathe fan my face.

"Elena?" He started slowly, sounding unsure.

"Yeah?" I looked up.

"No offense but your hair looks like a volcano erupted inside it."

What a great way to ruin the moment, Zayn.
