"I'm going to America." I admitted with my eyes squeezed shut as I sat across the table in KFC from Becky and Chelsea. We really don't eat that much fast food, it's just that I wanted to bring them to a public place so that neither of them would freak out when I told them the news that I would be effectively abandoning them for about two months... or maybe more.

"You're what?!" Chelsea almost shouted, causing a few people to turn their heads in the direction of our table. After receiving a few strange looks, the people that were staring at us with frustrated looks on their faces soon turned back to their food and regained their hushed conversations, unlike my friends and I.

"I'm going to America for a few months with the boys and Harry..." I clarified; I could feel my cheeks  engulfed by flames as the two pairs of eyes watched me. I couldn't help but squirm under all the attention I was getting from my friends today.

Each of the One Direction girlfriends, apart from Becky and Chelsea, had rang/text me to ask me if I was heading out to America with the boys: I'd told the same story at least three times already this morning and I was beginning to get a bit sick of it. The reason why they had been so eager to know where I was going was because they wouldn't be going with them, as they were starting University soon and so couldn't afford to waste any time when they could be beginning their studying. I was the only one that was going to a seperate University from the others, which made me a little nervous as I wouldn't habe my friends for support like they would- I also feared losing contact with them, although I knew that would never happen as long as the boys stayed together as a group and didn't break up with their girlfriends.

"But, what about University?" Becky questioned. She seemed automatically upset that I was leaving my studies and was jetting off to America for a long period of time.

"I spoke to someone and they said because of the circumstances I can start next month, and so they'll take some money off my fees as well."

"You've already worked this all out, right?"

"Yep, pretty much. I packed my bag this morning so the only thing I'm waiting for is the plane out there."

Chelsea and Becky were silent for a moment, each of them holding a drink in both their hands. I couldn't help but notice they were both flexing their fingers awkwardly as I told them what was going to be happening. Even though it wouldn't make much of a difference to them whether I was going to Uni or not as a result of us not going to the same ones, it was still a huge thing to not be in the same country as them at least. The trip of a lifetime that I'd originally been so excited for didn't appear all that appealing once my friends were out of the picture.

"Besides, I need to get away from this whole Kate situation... so I think it'd be good to go with them for a few months- I can always fly back on my own if I don't like it out there or something goes wrong."

I took a sip from my milkshake and placed it back down on the table, avoiding eye contact with either of the girls. Neither of them really looked as though they knew what to say, and so just simply nodded their heads to let me know that they'd at least acknowleged what I was saying.

We sat in silence for a little while, before we decided that we wanted to wander around town for a little bit. We had hardly said two words to each other from the time of leaving the restaurant and then wandering to the nearest clothes shop; I kept my eye out for a few summery pieces that I might need, but other than that we didn't hardly say a word.

"I'm gonna go and try this on, guys." I said, holding up the bikinis and t-shirts that I'd pulled off the rails.

Becky was over looking at the tops, and I noticed that it was just Chelsea that had been sticking close to me.

"Alright, see you in a minute," she smiled. Turning quickly on her heel, she stalked off in the direction of Becky. Once she'd reached her, I couldn't help the paranoid feeling that crept up on me as I watched the hushed chatter that they were conducting over by the dresses.

I turned my attention back to the escalator and began heading towards them. I placed my foot on the first step and held the clothes up higher to my chest in fear of them becoming stuck in the moving stairs. Once I'd reached the bottom, I wizzed through a load of racks that were randomly placed on the ground floor and finally made it to the large fitting rooms where a dark haired girl was standing outside with a employee badge on her perfectly ironed white blouse.

"How many items?" she asked. Her voice was slightly hollow which indicated to me that she was extremely bored.

"Six." I muttered, only really half interested as I watched a woman faffing around outside her changing room with a top that honestly looked terrible on her; for a start, it was at least two sizes too small.

The shop assistant handed me a tag which said that I had six items and forced a half hearted smile in my direction before turning around to see what it was that I was fixated over. Once she caught sight of the woman in the tiny top, she snorted and stifled a giggle. When the woman turned to look at her, she clamped her hand over her mouth and widened her eyes in the fear that the woman had heard her.

In the two seconds in which this was all going on, I had raced over to my changing room and was doubling over in laughter behind the closed curtain at the sight of it all.

After about fifteen minutes of trying on various items of clothing that didn't really look that amazing on me, I emerged from the changing room and decided on buying the bikini and one of the tops that I had come in with.

"Just these two, thanks." I said to the dark haired girl, who upon turning around I noticed was a different girl. This one was much brighter and actually smiled.

"Alright, love! Thank you!" she chimed as she took the items from me that I didn't want. I couldn't help but exchange a small, warm smile with her as I headed out of the changing room.

Even though the girl had put me in a fairly good mood, it was soon to be rained upon by none other than Kate.

I felt my stomach flip a few times as she stood directly in front of me, flipping her hair out of her eyes as she watched me boldly.

I pushed past her a few times before I actually managed to get past her, but even though I had made it past, she gripped onto my arm and dragged me into the corner of the store behind a huge rail of coats.

"Get off me!" I hissed, ripping my arm from her grasp once we'd reached the corner that was hidden behind a huge amount of cotton and polyester.

Her eyes bored into me as I attempted to stare her down, but failed as I found myself taking my eyes away from her as soon as she made contact.

"I wanted to have a little chat with you, just a quick one." she smirked as she pushed her hands into her pockets. She looked as though she was checking behind me to make sure that no one was watching.

"Really?"

"Yeah, well, not really a chat. I just wanted to tell you to stay away from Harry, because apparently my previous warning wasn't clear enough."

I found that my left eyebrow was rising as she spoke, the whole way that she percieved herself was enough to send me into a laughing fit.

"Just look at you," I spluttered through laughter. "You're so pathetic. You do know that you can't just blackmail your way through life, right?"

Kate's eyes hardened as I spoke, her smirk dropping.

Soon enough she was grabbing my arm and twisting it behind my back. Her face was now so close that I could hear the rising and falling of her chest and she breathed. Her features were inches away from mine as she opened her mouth slowly to continue with her demands.

"Now you listen and you listen good, you little rat. I've told you too many times to stay away from Harry and you haven't listened. This is the last time that I'm going to tell you."

Her words were like knives as she whispered them just loud enough so I could hear. Tiny pieces of spit were being flung across my face as a result of her hissing through gritted teeth.

"Do you understand?"

I nodded, squeaking slightly as she tightened the grip on my wrist causing the blood to slowly be cut off from my hand.

She watched me nod a few more times before she finally decided to let go of me. When she did so, my arm felt heavy as though it was dead. I tried my best to sooth it with my other hand through the use of rubbing it with my other hand, but it didn't work.

"I'll see you later." Kate laughed, smiling warmly as though I was one or her friends, which I most definitely wasn't.

My mood was now dampened as I made sure that she was gone before making my way back out onto the shop floor. I caught sight of Chelsea and Becky in the distance and hurried over to them, remembering that I was only supposed to be gone for a little while.

"Where have you been?" Chelsea pryed as I approached the two of them; they both looked pretty panicked, maybe they'd been looking for me.

"Oh, I just got a little caught up that's all..."

"With what? You've been gone ages," Becky chipped in.

"I, err... got talking with someone from my primary school."

"No you didn't. Kate's been here, hasn't she?"

"No? What? I haven't seen Kate in ages."

"Don't lie to us, Molly. It's written straight across your face."

I tried my best to laugh which may have suggested that I was telling the truth and they were being ridiculous, but it seemed to me like I was only digging a bigger hole for myself.

"I haven't seen Kate since, like, last week or something. Anyway, I need to get these 'cause I've gotta be home soon. Got a plane to catch, y'know."

I ushered the two girls over to the cashier and paid for my clothes, still attempting to keep up the act, even though they were both aware of the fact that I was lying and that Kate had actually been here. Maybe I was too afraid to tell them because I was too scared to admit to myself what had just happened.
