I was actually considering not putting this type of person on here, since I know a lot of you guys do this...
Before I go on and on about how I hate beggers [on wattpad], lets take a look of what a begger is.
According to Wikipedia:
Begging or panhandling is the practice of imploring others to grant a favor, often a gift of money, with little or no expectation of reciprocation. Beggars may be found in public places such as transport routes, urban parks, and near busy markets. Besides money, they may also ask for food, drink, cigarettes or other small items. Or in this case reads and/or votes.
Yes. Sadly, there are people who actual 'beg' for reads.
Now before you go off on me in the comment section and be all like "But what's wrong with people asking you to read their stories?"
Nothing. There's nothing wrong with wanting more people to read your story. However my friend, "beggers" or "deal makers" as I like to call them, will not update their story without recieving blank amount of reads or a certain set number of votes.
For instance:
"Hey guys!! I need 43 more votes before I update *Insert Story Title*
See what I mean?
Now I have a problem with this for a couple of reasons:
A) If I actually read your story, I don't think it's far for you not to update because of your selffish reason. Honestly, it just goes to show how insecure you are. You're basically telling the world "I need more people to read my story to make myself feel better!"
and
B) If you write because you love to write then it doesn't matter if three people or three million people read you're story.
Normally beggers will continue to message their followers until they get what they want. They'll constant blow up your phone with notification until they reach that set number of reads or votes:
9.00 A.M: 26 more reads until I update *Insert Story Title*
11:45 A.M: 19 more reads until I update! I know you guys can do it!
1: 15 P.M: 15 more reads people. We're almost halfway there...
4:00 P.M: 11 MORE READS! COME ON! READ MY STORY! I'M AN INSECURE ATTENTION SEEKING WH*RE!
4:01 P.M: Sorry guys, got a little crazy there...10 more reads :(
and so on...
At this point, I'll read the damned thing just so you can shut the hell up.
