I look up and Mr. Marais is staring right at Corbyn

"Corbyn what are you doing" he asks
"M-my work" he stutters
"That doesn't look like work to me"
"Sorry I'll continue"
"Good. Now is everything good over here. You guys can talk too" he says walking away

"So Corbyn, move on fast" Tate says as soon as everyone is out of class

I get uncomfortable by her statement and I start clearly becoming tense

"Relax" Corbyn whispers to me

"What do you mean" he says confidently
"I mean you just broke up with your girlfriend and now you're already trying to get with someone." She says as we walk away from the room walking to some lockers

Personally I'm walking to mine I don't know about them

"I'm just calming her down. There's nothing going on"
"What is she 5. Why does she need someone to calm her down" Christina says

I hate these girls so much. It's not my fault he decided to put his hand on my leg and it's not my fault that my mind and body relaxed from that

"I'm just trying to be a nice person"
"Whatever you never calmed me down"
"You never needed to be calmed down"
"Cause I'm a normal person that doesn't get all scared and needs someone to~"
"Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about" I interrupt turning around to face her

"I know enough. I know that I'm a normal person with a normal family and people who love me unlike you"

"You're right I don't have a normal family and I don't have people who love me but I don't care. As long as I have a house to live in I'm fine. I don't need anyone to love me because once I die I don't have to worry about anyone feeling bad" I say turning around walking away

I know I have people who love me and I really don't care if people think I don't. But I'll just play along and act like I don't just so I can stop the conversation

The rest of the day goes by and I don't see any of the boys. However, I remember I have to tutor them tonight so I wait a little longer at my locker than I usually do

Eventually only one of the boys comes up for me
