Midnight

22 - Human

Blake was just going for her weekly run around town. She thought it was going to be a peaceful day until her phone rang, the only contact on her phone beside her mother was Jim calling her cell number. She answers it while panting, "hello?"

'Hey, I have some news and were you just running?' Jim questions on the other side of the line.

"Yeah, I was just doing my laps, anyway, what's up?" Blake takes a few breathes.

'It's about Blinky, he--'

"What happened to him? Is he okay?" Blake questions, cutting Jim completely off.

'Uh, no, he is at my house and he's different,'

"What do you mean, how is he at your place? Nevermind, I am coming over to see what happened to Blinky, I am about eight minutes away, I'll make it into 3 minutes when I run, see you in a bit!" Blake ends the call.

At Jim's house, Blinky was chowing down his food while Jim was eating a bowl of cereal, "what do you call this cuisine?" Blinky questions.

"Leftovers?" Jim answers but asked like a question. He continued to eat. NotEnrique ends up making fun of the way Blinky was. He was human, it was strange but it was normal to Jim.

Draal decided to cut in, "while you were seeking the stone, that changeling Stricklander dropped your mother off outside," he began, slightly nervous.

"Yeah, I know," he took another bite of his cereal.

"I sorta caught him on the way out. But maybe you did not see he, uh, smushed faces with the Barbara,"

"He what?"

"What is the word you use?" He clinks his stone fingers together as a kissing motion, "uh, 'kissed'?" Jim growls and slams his cereal bowl on the counter. Draal wanted to strike the changeling down when he saw the Trollhunter got upset.

"Yes, you should've - I mean, no," Jim couldn't let Draal beat up the changeling. Whatever someone does to the changeling happens to his mother. Jim hears the door knocking and he went to go get the door and saw Blake, exhausted. He lets her in his house.

"What happened to Blinky? He can't go through sunlight and come here, you know that he would burn and turn into--" Blade got cut off when she saw a random stranger in his house, she immediately closes her mouth to prevent herself to speak anymore.

She waves awkwardly, "uh, hello, what I was going on about is about a movie I saw that involved vampires and if they went into the sunlight they would turn into stone and turn into dust," Blake says with a nervous chuckle.

"Um, Blake, that's Blinky, he turned human," Jim cuts in with a whisper.

"Blinky?!" Blake gasps and slaps her hands on his cheeks and inspected him, "woah, your face is squishy and not hard like stone," Blake couldn't stop feeling Blinky's new face.

"I know, it's filled with glop, yet the exterior is so soft and mushy," Blinky agreed with her, "how do you keep it all in?" Blinky questions. He stomach began to rumble, Blinky thought it was his stomach trying to communicate with him. NotEnrique grabs a cup and places it on his stomach and heard it rumbling loudly.

NotEnrique chuckles, "after eating a buffet, that fleshy inner tube of a body is about to spring a leak," Blinky gasps and quickly ran towards the bathroom, on the way he ended up running into the wall and falling over, "This is absurd. How can you function with only two eyes?!" Blinky questions while rushing to the bathroom.

"Jim, do have any bottled waters, I am thirsty after running all the way here," Blake says as she looks at the fridge, hoping there would be a water bottle inside.
