Chapter 032: The End

“Yes, Tita. Ako na po bahala sa lahat.”

“I am so disappointed, Raphael. But at the same time, very glad.”

“Make sure it doesn’t go out in the media yet before the wedding.” I heard Dad’s voice low and firm.

“Yes, Tito.”

I slowly opened my eyes and they all looked at me smiling.

“R-Raph..”

“Yana, how are you feeling?”

“I’m feeling all tired.”

“Y-You should take a rest.” He smiled.

“No. Why am I here? Did I really collapse? Hindi na ba kaya ng body ko?”

“I have something to talk with you. But you have to make sure you’re feeling all right.” He said softly.

“I-Is something wrong with me, Raph?”

“I don’t know if.. you’ll consider it wrong.”

“Bakit? What happened ba?”

He sat down at the left side of the bed and held my hand.

“You’re pregnant.” He said softly.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang magiging reaksyon ko. Hindi ko din alam kung anong sasabihin ko. Hindi ko alam. Bigla akong nahiya sa sarili ko and most especially kay Raph. But at one point there, natuwa din ako. I’m carrying Rhys’ child.

“R-Raph..” I squeezed his hand.

“Ayokong itanong kung anong nangyari, kung kailan at kung sino. But Yana..”

I looked at him.

“.. I’m willing to take all the responsibility.”

Nabigla ako sa sinabi niya. It seemed like biglang umakyat sa ulo ko ang dugo ko. I looked at him fiercely.

“Take responsibility?” I asked.

“Yana don’t get me wrong..”

“At ano? Pakakasalan mo ako? Ganun ba, Raph?”

“Yana this is-“

“No! This is for your reputation’s sake! Sa inyo ni Dad!”

“Calm down. It’s not good for your bod-“

“I can raise this child on my own.” My tears started streaming down. “I can raise this, Raph. I don’t want you to get into something you don’t want.”

“This is something I want Yana!”

“No..”

“This is your child. It can be ours. It can be mine. I’ll treat it as if it’s my own flesh and blood.”

“No, Raph!” I turned my head away. “I can’t let you.”

“Look, I love you so much.”

“But Raph-“

“And I’m willing to give in and give up everything for you, Yana.”

“But-“

“Take a rest. Pag-isipan mo ito. Then we’ll talk again.” He smiled and kissed me on the forehead.

I closed my eyes and held on my blanket tightly. What did I do? What was wrong with me? Sabi ko I’ll deal with this later. And here it is now. I can’t believe Raph would do such a thing. Does he deserve everything of this? I can’t let him marry me just because I spent a night with someone named Rhys which is also taken by another person and that night bear into something like this. I can’t let Raph partake any responsibility at my stupidity. Pero.. hindi rin naman yun katangahan. I can raise this child if I want to. I can always raise this child by myself.
