Chapter 13 | Adeleigh

Pauline Cynthia Zunino’s Point of View

I felt my cheeks heated before I turned the phone off and face Cyran, who is currently avoiding the topic I was asking.

“Come on, Cy, sabihin mo na sa’kin kung saan ka nagpunta kagabi. I already told you what happened to me!” I whined as I follow him around the kitchen.

He groaned. “It’s dangerous.”

“The more reason you should tell me.” I begged.

He glanced at the living room. “So keep quiet.”

Kumunot ang noo ko at tinitigan siya. His face was stoic and serious, as if something’s really bothering him.

“I will keep quiet if you tell me,” mariin kong sabi at hindi binitawan ang t-shirt niya para hindi siya makalayo sa’kin.

Tinignan niya ako ng masama. “There was another Bleanrithian.” He whispered closely.

Oh. Wow!

He shook his head. “It’s not. I am still investigating if we’re being followed or not.”

“Why are we being followed?” Nagtatakang tanong ko. “And why is it not a good news?” Now I’m confused!

“I won’t tell you, I need to make sure first before telling anyone,” maingat niyang sabi. “I need to know first if he has good intentions.”

“He?”

Cyran groaned, not willing to answer anymore. I glared at him and he stuck his tongue out.

“Stop using your telekinesis on me!”

“If he’s dangerous, hindi ba dapat sabihin mo kay Raine? I don’t want you to be in a mortal peril,” nag-aalala kong sabi.

“He made his presence known to me that’s why I’m thinking that he doesn’t want to be found by anyone else." Naka-kunot noo niyang sabi bago bumaling sa’kin. “You? Did someone introduce himself to you yesterday?

We both went inside Luke’s. We went to Ms. Legazpi’s table and then they excused themselves, when I turned, Cyran was gone and—

Oh shit.

“I remember!” I delightfully said. “I think his name is Drake. I trailed, not wanting to continue.

“Don’t think about it. I’ll handle it,” he spoke.

But I can’t stop thinking about it!

“I said don’t think about it and just message Warner or something,” sabi niya at pinitik pa ang noo ko.
