Shubman's POV-

Today was our match against SRH.

Since the minute both the teams arrived, Meher has been joking around with everyone. I couldn't help but notice everywhere she goes.

She's such a child by heart, I tell you.

"Tabse dekh raha hu mai, ghoorta hi ja raha hai usko." Abhishek said.

I turned to look at him, before saying, "Pagal hai kya?"

"Jhoot na bol mere se.. sab kuch dikh raha hai merko." He stated.

"Ja bowling ki practice kar tu."

"Acha beta, ruk, dekhta hu tujhe." He laughed, before walking away to practice with his team.

I chuckled at him, before shifting my attention back to Meher.

"Where did she go..." I mumbled, looking around for her.

"Found that person?" A voice came from behind me.

I turned around and came face to face with Meher.

"Yeah. Found that person." I said, slowly. Her cheeks turned red, and honestly, I loved seeing her like this.

"Bhabi!" Abhishek shouted. Instantly, Meher and I turned to look at him.

He fake coughed before smirking at us.

"Ball dena zara." He said, pointing at the ball, which lied a foot behind Meher.

"Maar khaega, Abhay." She warned him, smiling though, before throwing the ball back at him.

He laughed at her, not forgetting to wink, before he ran back with the ball. Meher was still blushing and I couldn't help but stare at her.

"I-uh.. I'll get done with the pictures. All the best for the match." She wished.

"Thank you." I smiled.

I watched her walking off the ground, before I myself walked into the dressing room to get changed. I sat on one of the benches in the room, thinking about today's game.

I got this. I can do it.

*

After I received the Man of the Match award for my 70*(62), I walked back to the dressing room.

We beat SRH by 7 wickets. Our first win of the season.

The environment in the dressing room radiated excitement. All of us were really happy.

"Here comes the Man of the Match!" Brendon cheered.

"Amazing show out there mate." He added.

I thanked him, and the rest of them praised me for my performance. When everyone was done, Brendon started with the performance analysis, which took fifteen minutes of our time.

We freshened up, before walking back to the bus.

I looked around for Meher, but couldn't find her anywhere, and so I decided to talk to her once back in the hotel.

We reached the hotel in about twenty minutes and there was a cake waiting for us in the lobby. DK handed me the knife, and I cut it. After everyone was given a piece, I was greeted with cake on my face, with some pieces falling inside my tshirt too.

All of us dispersed and began walking towards our respective rooms post the celebration.

After I took a relaxing shower, I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a blue tshirt, before making my way towards Meher's room.

I haven't seen her since the minute the match started.

The door flew open in a few seconds after I had knocked it.

"Congratulations, Mr. Man of the Match!" Meher cheered, jumping on me for a hug.

I hugged her back, before she pulled away to say, "I'm so proud of you!"

Her eyes beamed with happiness, just like her smile.

Meher's arms were still around my neck, whereas mine were around her waist.

"Thank you!" I smiled at her.

"Come in." She said, completely detaching herself from me.

"Where's Sidiksha?" I asked her.

"She fell asleep in Meeth and Naksh's room." She said, to which I nodded.

"Where were you after the match?" I asked her, sitting on the bed.

"I quickly returned to the hotel. It was Meeth's birthday today, so we had a small celebration in his room." She explained.

"Oh, by the way, did you have dinner?" She asked me.

"Not yet."

"I'll order something for the both of us?"

"Yeah, okay."

She picked up the intercom, but paused and looked at me.

"Anything specific?" Meher asked.

"Uhm... something light."

"Done."

After Meher ordered two pasta salads for us, she turned to look at me, before asking, "So, how was it?"

"What?" I asked.

"The match baba."

"Oh, the match. Yeah, it was great. I was really disappointed with how I played in the previous match, but this compensated for that. I'm just happy we won." I shrugged, having a smile on my face.

She smiled back at me, before saying, "I'm glad."

"And, yeah, thank you."

"For what?" Meher asked, chuckling.

"For the pep talk."

"But that was before the previous game." She stated.

"I know, but then it still motivated me. Your trust motivated me."

"Well, atleast I could be of some help."

We spoke for a few more minutes before she showed me the pictures she clicked, out of which I posted two pictures on my Instagram.

"You know, you make me really happy." She suddenly stated, smiling at me.

I smiled at her before tucking her hair behind her ear.

This, staring into her eyes, while having my palm on her cheek, gave me warm feeling.

"That felt good to hear." I told her.

Meher had a smile on her face as she blinked her eyes.

There's this feeling inside me which gives me signals that I'm attracted to her, but I'm just not sure.

----

Again, I'm really sorry for the late update. I have my exams next week, so I won't be updating regularly, but that's just until the end of this month.
Also, I'm really sorry for this shitty chapter. I wanted to update today, but I didn't have anything in mind, and I ended up writing this.
Also, also, don't forget to vote! 💕
