Meher's POV-

It's been a month and half already in the UAE. IPL would get over soon, and I know for a fact that I would miss this so much, especially all the KKR and SRH players. God, those two teams are family now.

Also, it's been a month that I've realised my feelings for Shubman, but man, I'm such a chicken to confess.

Adding to it, Shubman is not really Shubman. As in, he's not the same Shubman he was a month back, with me, atleast. He hasn't spoken to me a lot lately, and trust me, this is bothering me so much.

I've been staring at Shubman from the past fifteen minutes, and the boy knows it too, yet he still hasn't looked at me properly, or smiled.

"Yo, you alright?"

I turned my gaze at Kamlesh, who looked at me with a confused face.

"Uh.. yeah, I'm fine." I replied. Kamlesh shook his head before sitting next to me.

"What's up?"

"Nothing." I mumbled, looking at my shoes.

"Not buying that."

"Ugh! Shubman has been ignoring me lately, and I hate it, I absolutely hate it." I hissed.

"It's just the pressure, chill."

"No, it's not. I know he's ignoring me. Something's up with him." I stated, still looking at my shoes.

I looked up, and noticed Shubman looking at me before he turned his attention back at Shivam, who was bowling to him.

"You know what?" I asked, turning to Kamlesh.

He raised an eyebrow at me.

"I'm going to quit being a chicken, and walk up to him and confess my feelings." I said, standing up.

"Woo! Let's go."

"Nah, that's not helping, I need more motivation." I told him.

"Oh, okay." He said, before standing up next to me.

"Come on, Meher, you can do it. Walk up to him and confess. It's really easy, you can do this." He said, standing behind me and patting both my shoulders.

"You going there and confessing to him can lead to a beautiful family in the future. Shubman, you aur do chote chote bachh-"

"Zyaada hogaya." I stated.

"Oh.... okay. But you get my point, right?"

"Yes yes." I replied

"Yes, I can do this." I added.

I took a deep breath before making my way towards Shubman. Stopping after four steps, I turned back to look at Kamlesh.

"Uhm.. you know... he's practicing, I shouldn't disturb him now." I said, slowly shrugging my shoulders, before walking back.

"Chicken." Kamlesh mumbled.

"Excuse me, I'm not." I said, hitting him on his arm.

"Oh well, he's off practice now. He's making his way towards the chairs." Kamlesh pointed out.

"Oh man." I hissed under my breath.

"Go!" Kamlesh pushed me towards Shubman's direction.

I took a deep breath, before walking towards Shubman. He was sitting on a chair, taking off his gloves.

"I need to talk to you." I mumbled, looking down.

"I didn't quite hear you." He answered.

I sighed, before saying, "We need to talk."

"About?" He asked, taking off his pads.

"About how you've been ignoring me." I stated.

"I'm not ignoring you."

"Stop lying. You sure are!" I said, raising my voice.

Shubman glared at me, before standing up and pulling me closer by my elbow.

"Do not create a scene." He stated.

"I'm not creating a scene." I replied.

"Well, you sure are."

I pulled my elbow out of his grip, before taking a step back.

"Why are you ignoring me?" I asked again.

"I'm not ignoring you, and I do not want to talk about this again." He stated.

"Ugh! Why are you behaving like this?" I questioned.

Shubman stayed silent.

"Shubman, talk to me for god's sake."

He didn't even look at me.

"Shubman."

"Shubman."

"Shubman!" I shouted.

"Because I want you to stay away from me!" He shouted back.

I don't know whether I was taken aback by his answer or by the way he reacted. I could feel my eyes watering and I didn't want him to see me cry. I turned around and made my way towards where my things were kept.

For a fact I knew that people were looking at me and I didn't like it.

"Meher, look at me." Kamlesh said, when I started gathering my things.

I didn't look at him.

"Meher." He sighed, holding my shoulders and making me look at him.

"Your friend is very mean." I cried.

Kamlesh hugged me and whispered, "Shh, it's okay. He's just moody, he'll be fine."

I pulled away and wiped my tears.

"I'm going back to the hotel, I'll see you there." I stated, wiping a couple of tears.

"Okay, take care." He said, patting my cheek.

I quickly picked up my things and started walking towards the exit. From the corner of my eye I saw Shubman looking at me. He got up from his spot and made his way towards me.

I had no energy left me in to deal with him and so I ran out of the ground.

*

I entered my suite, and the first thing I did was crash on my bed. Grabbing the nearest pillow, I laid my head on it and cried.

"Why did he have to be so mean!" I stated, crying more.

"He didn't have to be so rude to me."

"First, he ignores me for god knows what reason, and then behaves like it's all my fault. I don't even know what I did!" I cried, pulling my hair slightly.

"Ughh! I hate that guy."

I looked at the clock and realised that I had just attended an hour of the practice. I had hardly clicked any pictures today. I don't even know what I'm going to submit.

"This is all because of him." I cried loudly.

I calmed myself down before taking a deep breath.

"Get a grip on yourself, Meher."

"You cannot let this amazing opportunity go for a toss. You've earned this, please don't waste it, please." I whispered, while tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Shubman does not mean anything to you, and he shouldn't as well."
