Meher's POV-

I voted for one last time. I cannot believe it's over already! Feels like it just started yesterday. To be honest, I really liked the book.

Well, everything has to come to an end anyway.

But is God giving me signals or what?

I mean, look, my name is Meher too, and so was the protagonist's. I'm in Abu Dabi too, and so was the protagonist. It's another thing that she came here for the internship while I'm here to attend a cousin's marriage.

Also, both the Mehers do have some things in common.

I shook my head thinking about what if the Wattpad story actually turns into reality. But obviously, it isn't possible.

You know, I realised people tend to imagine or dream about things that they want in life, but sometimes, those seem impossible.

When you live in a dream, you manufacture illusions.

But also, people don't want to hear the truth, because they don't want their illusions to be destroyed. Because deep inside, they know illusions never change into something real.

And, maybe, that's why there are fanfictions on Wattpad. Fanfictions are nothing but illusions in itself.

In an illusionary world, everyone's happy. You do have problems, you do have misunderstandings, just like the way Meher and Shubman had, but you also know that they will solve it sooner or later, because that's what's meant to happen.

We admire some people, and somewhere, we do know that there's literally just 1% chance of you and that person getting together, and so we read fanfictions to find our happiness of being with that person.

Funnily, I know all of this because I stand there too.

But, I also do know that admiring and falling in love with a person are two different things. I admire Shubman, but have I fallen in love with him? Is it even possible for me to fall in love with him without even knowing him personally? No, right?

You see, love can sometimes be magic, but magic can sometimes just be an illusion.

"Seems like everything is an illusion." I sighed, running my fingers through my hair.

Shaking my head, I threw all the illusionary thoughts away from my mind, before getting off the bed.

I opened the wardrobe, and took out a set of one beautiful crop top and palazzo pants for the sangeet tonight.

It was almost 6:00 p.m., and I decided to get ready, because I really take a lot of time.

I entered the washroom, scrubbed and cleansed my face before dabbing it with a towel. Just when I was about to put the first drop of primer on my hand, I felt like there's something I forgot.

Meher, think!

What did you forget?

When I couldn't think what it was about, I picked up the primer tube again, before dropping a few liquid drops on my palm.

And that's when I remembered!

Ahana di asked me to come to her room by 5:45 to set her hair. Seeing that it's her sangeet, she should be the first one to get ready.

I quickly wiped the primer off my palm by a tissue, before looking into the mirror.

I was wearing my white night dress, but nevermind, I couldn't care less. I was just going to Ahana di's room anyway. It wouldn't matter.

Checking the time on my watch, I barged out of my hotel room only to collide with someone.

A tub of chocolate ice cream splashed all over my white night dress.

Fuming with anger, I looked up to see the culprit who caused this damage, but froze as soon as I saw his face.

Shubman Gill stood right infront of me, smiling while scratching his neck, as the next sentence unknowingly escaped my mouth.

"Oh boy, is this.. an.."

And all those things which I thought happened only in an illusionary world, seemed to turn into reality.

"Illusion?"

----

Well, okay, so this is the last chapter. xD

Vote, for one last time. :')
