 Marley POV

I looked through the story and audibly gasped. "Barry," I whispered, quietly enough for Barry not to hear. Barry walked out of one of the stalls, new clothes, hair, and face still have some stickiness to it. I finished reading the article, tears brimming my eyes. "Barry," I ran up to him and clobbered him in a hug. I released him and saw him staring at the ceiling. "Barry," he cut me off, "Marley, don't,"

"Barry, look at me, please," Barry looked down at me, I messed with his hair and wiped some slushie off his face, "Thank you for showing me, but you shouldn't have," Barry smiled. I looked up at him concerned. He just looked back at me and said: "I know but you're my best friend, and I just thought, the sooner the better." I chuckled slightly, but then remembered what Barry said, "wait, Barry, what do you mean this has happened before?" he looked at me a bit upset and opened his mouth, "um, well, it happened, just it was worse..."

"What do you mean, was it a full-on food fight? Or just a beverage throwing competition?" I chuckled and then saw Barry's face, "oh, guess it was a little more serious," Barry nodded and said "um, I-uh, when my mom died, and everyone thought my dad killed her,"

"Your dad didn't kill your mom?" Barry looked a little annoyed, "no he didn't, everyone thought I was insane because I saw something impossible,"

"Which was?" He looked a little scared to say the rest, "there was this ball of lighting, and inside the ball of lighting, was a man, that man killed my mom, not my dad, him." I looked at him with sympathy, "do you believe me?" Barry asked, "I do," I said, bringing him back into a hug. "We're going to be late to the auditions, and I feel like I am going to be more than slapped if I make you miss it." I laughed and said, "that might be correct Mr. Allen." Barry laughed and said, "I'll meet you there, let me just get this gunk out of my hair," Barry smiled his dorky, wholehearted smile that makes my stomach flutter with joy. "okay, but you have to tell me the rest of the story, alright?" he nodded and I came out of the restroom. I walked through the hallways to the auditorium, fidgeting with my cl0thes. I waited in the wings and saw Barry come in through the back, his hair looking less sticky. "Hey, you ready?" Barry asked as Mr. Schue called my name, "as ready as I'll ever be," I muttered to myself, "you'll be great, Mar, even if I have never heard you sing," I laughed at Barry and said, "wish me luck!" Barry smiled and said, "already started."
