SÓLMÁNUÐUR DAY OF TYR

An exact full week had passed and our magic had returned the following day after that occurrence. It was a major predicament when everyone panicked after we temporarily lost our magic — something that should only happen when we were nearing death or we were in Tetrae Lands.

A phenomenon that revealed itself when our magic vanished.

However, that was not my main dilemma.

I spent my days collecting information and recalling the late first prince, June Ezriel, my supposed-to-be deceased brother. The man's color features looked so much like Father and Yves for me to deny.

Father had no relatives for he had killed them all. I was plenty sure of that since he had a display of their bones as part of his sick collection.

The man had that signature icy blue irises of Ezriel and pale blonde hair but even from his portraits, he favored Mother's appearance, especially his round-shaped eyes. That man, if my assumption was right, was my eldest brother.

That pair of beautifully shaped eyes awfully reminded me of someone but I could not determine who. Or maybe I was befuddled since it was the same as mine.

A knock disturbed my contemplation and I glanced at the scattered things in my bed. I was in the middle of preparing for a mission but I could not appease my mind about June.

"Are you done?" Reichen's voice resounded in my room.

"Almost," I replied and hastily packed my belongings.

I donned up my black outfit and went outside where Reichen was already straddling his horse.

"Still no news about Night?" I asked as I hopped onto Lightning.

It had also been a week since I last saw Night. He had not returned and I was troubled by that fact. Knowing how Night had been acting these days, there was not a single day he did not come back after a mission no matter how tired he was.

Night did not know about Reichen's confession but he was very against the idea of me and Reichen alone in a house even from the start and yet, a week fleetly passed without a trace of him.

What if...

I was overthinking again and I tried to stop myself.

"Night has an ongoing mission and might take some time," Reichen notified as we ventured our way.

"Just what kind of mission takes a whole week?"

I could not erase the restlessness despite his answer.

"His," came the dubious response that earned him a glare from me. "Anyhow, the other members already contacted me. They're on their way as well. I'm glad those geezers realize our critical situation and they're now fervent in searching for Lady Mhilrim. I hope they'll find some definite clues soon."

There was another meeting held yesterday and by far the most passive since everyone came into a natural agreement to search for Lady Mhilrim after their magic was gone which hadn't happened since a millennia ago according to history.

"If you're that vexed, shouldn't you be part of Lady Mhilrim's faction? Why are you even here when you're the one most concerned about the search?"

"Oh, is that jealousy I'm hearing?" he teased and my lips pursed.

"No, dumbass. I'm confused since you were the one always insisting on and you're the leader. How come you're always stuck with me?" I riposted.

"Don't fret, Ace. I know how to separate my personal life from my duties. I told you before that with you beside me, my magic is amplified. Your unmatched disguise and wide-scale barrier in addition to my ability to control? We can conquer the continent if we want to. We're the perfect combination, aren't we?" He was grinning wide with his statement, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
