After all of that, I couldn't stop myself from shaking as tears rapidly ran down my cheeks. Not only from sadness, but pure shock from the whole situation.

As I leaned back against the wall, placing my head in my hands, Lucas suddenly appeared in front of me.

"How could I be so stupid?" I said, scolding myself for my decisions.

"Don't say that. He's the stupid one for letting you go." He said, pulling me into his chest as he wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on top of my head comfortably.

"I'm sorry Lucas, you shouldn't have had to protect me. I should be able to do it myself."

"Protect you? Are you kidding? You're the one who pretty much just prevented him from having kids anytime in the future." He chuckled as his chest vibrated against my cheek.

"I suppose so." I said, smiling ever so slightly.

He then pulled back, so that his hands were rested on my shoulders and we were now making eye contact. My eyes were most likely red and puffy, with mascara running down my face as I attempted to wipe it away.

"Skylar, you're fucking amazing. Any guy would be lucky to have you, okay? Don't you dare let that bastard get to you because you deserve so much more than him." He said sincerely.

Looking up into his eyes, I felt a surge of butterflies in my stomach as he complimented me. I couldn't help from reaching up and wrapping my arms around his neck, hugging him closely for the second time.

"Thank you." I sniffled slightly. "You're the best."

"Sky...I have to tell you something." he said seriously as I released him once more.

"What is it?" I said as he began to look nervous.

"I-"

"Lucas, there you are! I was worried."

We both turned to see a beautiful girl with light brown hair and sea blue eyes staring straight back at us with a smile on her face.

"Oh, Daisy...hi." Lucas said awkwardly, scratching the nape of his neck as he looked between the two of us.

I furrowed my brows slightly, wondering who this girl was and where she'd come from.

"Someone told me that there was a situation with you and Jake, and I wanted to make sure you were okay." she said, stepping towards him and touching his arm.

"I'm fine...thanks." Lucas smiled slightly as he looked at me.

"Sorry, how rude of me. I don't think we've met, I'm Daisy." she smiled, giving me a small wave.

"I'm Sky." I said, attempting to smile but struggling to be genuine after the day I was having. "Sorry, how do you two know each other?" I asked, curiously.

"She's my, date for the wedding." Lucas said hesitantly.

"Oh." I said, surprised by his answer. "Cool."

I felt a slight sting in my chest, despite having no right to feel that way.

"Are you okay? You look upset." she asked genuinely. "Do you need anything? I have tissues or mascara if you need it! Would you like some water?" she said sweetly, beginning to rummage around in her handbag.

"Thank you, but I'm okay. It's just not been a great day for me." I explained. "If you'll excuse me, I just need to go and find someone." I said, beginning to walk away.

"Sky, wait-" Lucas said, grabbing my arm as I pulled away.

"I'll see you later." I said simply before walking away and gently taking his hand away from my arm.
