Part 34

A few days later....

After her experience in Country M, although Lisa's work did not change exponentially, she still made progress that improved her skills.

Furthermore, one doesn't know if it was out of revenge for the New Year's Eve fiasco or something else, Jisoo had given Lisa a lot of work to complete. She had even given her work to complete after she had returned to Seoul, but Jisoo's plans didn't impact Lisa in the slightest other than reducing her time of going out.

She glanced up at the clock and saw it was already past one, so Yugyeom and Teacher Kim should be sleeping now. She felt a little thirsty and turned on her mobile phone's flashlight as she tiptoed into the living room.

She hadn't even taken more than two steps towards the kitchen when a dark figure appeared. The sudden appearance caused Lisa to suddenly jump back in fright.

Jennie heard the commotion behind her, turned around and whispered, "It's me."

"Oh, it's just you,Jennie. You startled me." Lisa calmed her beating heart and walked over with a small smile on her face. Ever since the incident a few days ago at the Mingxing event, the awkwardness had slowly faded.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet?"

Jennie continued to pour some water into her glass before turning around. That's when Lisa saw her pale face and the large droplets of sweat running on down her face. She could even smell the strong scent of Chinese medicine lingering in the air. She immediately knew that something was off and hurriedly touched her hand. The coldness of Jennie's hand surprised her and she asked, "Are you sick? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"I'm fine." Jennie spoke softly and felt her heart go a little soft when she was Lisa's nervous expression. She shook her hand out of Lisa's grip with a red blush on her face.

"No, you're already in this state, how can you say you're fine? Get in the car, I will drive you." Lisa was getting even more anxious. She was very bad at taking care of herself, let alone sick people, but a doctor would definitely know what to do.

Jennie saw that Lisa really was going to take her hospital. She bit her lower lip and quickly whispered, "It's that time of the month."

"What time?" Lisa stared for a moment and then watched as Jennie gave her a glare. Then she realized that Jennie had been clutching her lower abdomen this entire time and she suddenly felt enlightened, "Oh, it's that."

Her mind was muddled by her concern that she completely forgot about these obvious signs. Furthermore, she never really experienced any pain during hers, so of course, she wouldn't have noticed until now. She knows that Seulgi sometimes has pain problems during hers, but didn't they say that as long as one kept their body in good shape that there would be no pain? Jennie paid attention to her health every day while Lisa would eat random junk food every so often, so why did she not feel any pain during hers?

"Then you should quickly lay down and try to sleep." Lisa reached up and held her arm, supporting her carefully back to Jennie's bedroom. Once there, she carefully arranged the blankets to fit snugly around Jennie and turned up the heat on the thermostat.

"Do you have a hot water bottle?" Lisa asked. She remembered that her former roommate would often hold a hot water bottle on her stomach to warm it during these painful moments.

When Jennie merely blinked back at her, she knew that Jennie was not in the right state of mind to be thinking clearly. However, even with her sick and pained appearance, Lisa couldn't help thinking that she looked beautiful, like one of those ancient sick beauties.
