chapter five - november, 1983

"Are you out of your mind?" Lucas demanded at Mike. Lucas and Dustin had met Alex, Mike and Eleven at Mike's house and the four of them were talking together in Mike's room while Eleven was sitting on the bed.

"Just listen to me," Mike said, standing next to Alex.

"You are out of your mind!" Lucas said, raising his voice.

"She knows about Will," Alex said as Mike nodded.

"What do you mean she knows about Will?" Dustin asked as Alex sighed and walked over to the photo El recognised of Will and showed the boys.

"She pointed at him, at his picture," she said, "she knew he was missing. I could tell."

"You could tell?" Lucas asked and Alex nodded.

"Just think about it," Mike said, "do you really think it was a coincidence that we found her on Mirkwood, the same place where Will disappeared?"

"That is weird," Dustin said as Alex nodded.

"And she said bad people are after her and Alex," Mike said.

"I think maybe these bad people are the same ones that took Will," Alex said, "If they're who I think they are, then they won't stop until they have El and I. I think she knows what happened to him."

"If she knows then why don't you?" Lucas demanded.

"I don't know," Alex said,

"Then why doesn't she tell us?" Lucas demanded, walking over to Eleven and shaking her shoulders. "Do you know where he is? Do you know where Will is?"

"Stop it, you're scaring her!" Mike said, pulling Lucas away from a scared Eleven.

"She should be scared!" Lucas said before turning to Eleven. "If you know where he is, tell us!" Eleven said nothing. "This is nuts. We have to take her to your mom." Alex looked at him like he was stupid before turning around to look at Mike.

"No!" Mike said. "Eleven said telling any adult would put us in danger."

"What kind of danger?" Dustin asked, sounding concerned.

"Her name is Eleven?" Lucas asked as Alex nodded.

"El for short," Alex said.

"Mike, what kind of danger?" Dustin repeated.

"Danger danger," Mike said. He copied Eleven's finger gun movements that she did earlier and pointed it at Dustin's forehead, than at Lucas' forehead. Lucas looked at Mike like he was stupid then slapped his hand away.

"No, no, no!" Lucas said, "We're going back to plan A."

"Lucas, we can't!" Alex said, grabbing his arm. "We need to keep it a secret." Lucas pushed Alex's arm off his and headed towards the door.

"We're telling your mom." Alex's blue eyes glowed red as Dustin's eyes went wide and his jaw dropped. Eleven turned her head and the door slammed shut and locked the door. Lucas tried to open the door, but a red mist glowed around his hand, stopping it. He turned around and sae Alex standing there, her eyes glowing red with two red energy balls in her hands as she stared at him.

"Don't even think about it," Alex said.

"No," Eleven said, her nose bleeding. Alex blinked and her eyes went back to blue as the energy balls disappeared.
