During lunch, Max was skating around while the boys and Alex were standing by the gate, watching her.

"You are so creepy," Alex said as she had her arms crossed.

"There's no way that's Mad Max," Mike said as Alex sighed.

"Yeah," Will said nodding, "girls don't play video games."

"Beg your pardon," Alex said as Mike looked at her.

"But you're not very good at them," he said. Alex opened her mouth to respond but closed it and shrugged.

"You've got a point," she said smiling as Mike chuckled.

"Besides," Mike added, "you can't get 750,000 points on Dig Dug. It's impossible."

"But her name is Max," Lucas said as Mike looked at him.

"So what?" he asked, not seeing the point.

"So," Lucas began, "how many Maxes do you know?" Mike thought about it.

"I don't know," he said as Alex smiled.

"Zero," she said, "that's how many."

"She shows up at school the day after someone with her same name breaks our top score," Dustin said as the boys watched her skating, "I mean, you kidding me?"

"Exactly," Lucas said, "so she's gotta be Mad Max."

"And plus she skateboards, so she's pretty awesome," Dustin said as Mike looked at him like he was insane.

"Awesome?" Mike asked, "you haven't even spoken a word to her."

"Well I have," Alex said, "and now I'm goin to talk to her again which I suggest you do instead of stalking her." She smiled at the boys before making her way over to Max who looked up and smiled.

Hey," Max said, getting off her skateboard. Alex looked at her and smiled.

"Hey," she said, "how are you finding it here?"

"Alright," Max said shrugging, "it's weird, and some people here are weird."

"I'd like to say you'd get to use to it," Alex began, "but you don't." Max laughed as Alex shrugged.

"Do you wanna walk with me to class?" Max asked as Alex smiled.

"Sure," Alex said, "what's your next class?"

"Art," Max said as Alex smiled.

"Mine too," Alex said as Max grinned.

"Are your friends stalking me?" Max asked as Alex sighed.

"Yeah," she said, "they're desperate to know if you're the MadMax who beat Dustin's score on Dig Dug."

"That might have been me," Max said as Alex grinned.

"You are my favourite person right now," she said chuckling. As the two girls climbed up the stairs into the school, Max dropped a crumpled up piece of paper into the bin. "What was that?"

"A little note for your friends," she said as the two girls laughed and headed off to art class.

"Hey Alex?"

It was late that night and Alex, Isabella and Jesse were sitting around the dining table eating their dinner.
