"It's gonna start pouring soon," Max was saying the next day as the three girls were walking towards the Hargrove house as thunder began rumbling above their heads. Alex was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans with a black cropped top that had lace designs on it with spaghetti straps and landed a few inches above her bellybutton with one of Mike's grey jumpers and white trainers and her diamond necklace. Eleven was wearing a dark blue, short sleeved top that was tucked into light blue trousers with white stripes going down. She had a brown belt on with white trainers and Max had a white t-shirt on that was tucked into a pair of her orange converse on.  "We should be at the mall or, like, watching a movie or something."

"You don't believe me?" Eleven asked as Alex looked at her,

"I believe you saw some super weird stuff, totally, but you said Mike has sensed you in there before, right?" Max asked as the three of them walked off the road and onto the grass. Eleven nodded. "So maybe it was just like that. Maybe Billy just. . . . sensed you somehow."

"But the screams," Eleven said as Alex looked at Max, wondering how she was going to explain it.

"Yeah, I know, but here's the thing," Max said as Alex bit her lip, "when Billy is alone with a girl, they make, like, really crazy noises."

"They scream?" Eleven asked as Alex looked at Max amused.

"Yeah," she said, "but, like. . . . happy screams."

"Happy screams?" Eleven asked confused as Alex looked at the red haired girl, "what is happy screams?"

"It's like. . . ." Max began trying to explain what 'happy screams' meant to Eleven, " I'm just gonna lend you my mom's Cosmo." The three girls stopped walking and stood outside Max's house only to see Billy's car was not there. "His car's not here," she said as she turned to Eleven. "You really want to do this?" Eleven nodded and Alex sighed.

"Let's do this," the blonde said and the three girls walked into Max's house and into Billy's room.

"Why do I get the feeling we're gonna find all kinds of wrong in here?" Max asked, opening the door to Billy's room. Heavy metal was playing on his stereo as the three girls looked around. Max walked over to a drawer, opened in and groaned in disgust. "Ugh!" she said as she saw adult magazines, "ag me with a spoon." She closed the drawer and the three girls walked towards the bathroom. Alex opened the door and it creaked before she switched on the light. Max and Eleven went different ways, but Alex walked over to the bathtub and saw the empty ice packets in the bath that Eleven described to her.

"El, Max?" Alex called and the two girls hurried over to her.

"Ice," Max said, "it's just ice." She leant towards the bath and grabbed one of the ice packets. "Probably for his muscles or something. He works out like a maniac." Eleven nodded, but Alex looked to the side and saw small splatters of blood on the cabinet doors. She stared at the cabinet before walking over and opening it. Inside was plastic bin and the blonde reached into the cabinet and pulled out the bin.

"Lexie?" Max asked, "what is it?" Alex held the bin with one hand as she pulled out a lifeguard fanny pack that obviously did not belong to Billy. She put it down by the sink before reaching into the bin and pulling out a bloody whistle. Her breath was trembling as she slowly turned around and looked at Max and Eleven who was staring at her worried.

The three girls arrived at Hawkins Pool. Max got off her bike and seconds later Alex and Eleven got off the blonde. Kids around them were squealing and running from the rain as the three girls looked around before walking to the desk. Alex was wearing a green raincoat, Max a yellow one and Eleven a red one.
