"I like this one. You like it?" Kyla asked Mekai as they searched through the wedding venue book
They were finally beginning to plan their wedding since things seemed to be going smoothly, and Mekai was walking again.
"Yeah."
"Kai, you've been saying the same thing to all of them." She sighed with irritation
"They some nice venues" he shrugged
"You know what, forget it." Kyla closed the book and got up
He looked at her with confusion
"If you don't wanna' get married just say that."
"Now you talkin' crazy." He said, chuckling
"You don't even care!" Her voice cracked as she held back tears
Mekai noticed that her emotions have been everywhere lately, he figured it was the stress of wedding planning and managed to cope with her emotional roller coaster.
"What?" He questioned "Look, it's not that I don't care. I just got a lot on my mind right now baby."
Kyla sniffled, sitting back down.
He took that as his initiative to finish "I lost the chance of a lifetime, my career was completely snatched from me. I feel like I'm trying to find myself all over again. It's nothing against you, I swear. You been my biggest supporter from day one, even when I fuck up."
By now, Kyla had tears running down her face.
"I'm sorry. I should've known."
"There's no way you could've, I wasn't really communicating well."
"Yeah you weren't, jerk." She playfully nudged him while wiping her face "But I understand, and I'll definitely give you time, hell I'll even help if you want."
"I appreciate it Sunshine." He pulled her in for a hug, then pecked her lips softly
"I love you." She enjoyed being in his embrace
"I love you more."
Kyla (Later that night)
"Baby, I gotta' run into the office, can you put the twins to sleep?" I asked Mekai while slipping on my jacket

"It's almost 9 at night. Why you going to work?" He asked while entertaining the twins
"One of my clients needs access to her private funds, and all my files are at the office. I shouldn't be long"
"Ok, you got some protection?"
"Always." I grabbed my purse and my laptop "I love y'all." I gave them each a quick peck before heading for the door
"Call me when you get there."
"Ok baby." I exited, locking the door on my way out
I love my job, but sometimes these late hours annoy me. I was at home enjoying my family and interrupted by work.
*12:17am
I yawned as I emailed the last of my client's paperwork. The process took longer than expected, but I got it done. My bank account will look very nice for doing work after hours, so I can't really complain. I closed my laptop then stood up and stretched before putting all my paperwork away. I grabbed my belongings and sent Mekai a text letting him know I was on my way home.
As I began walking down the hall, I heard someone talking. Once I got closer to Mr. Williams' office, I saw his light on. I peeked inside and saw him looking at a picture, crying.
"Bitch gone tell me she don't want me, tuh. Can you believe that?" He started walking around his desk
I'm assuming it was a picture of his fiancé, well ex fiancé. Word around the office is that she left him for his brother last week. I stood where I couldn't be seen and looked around for another person, but I didn't see or hear anyone else
This nigga talking to himself- out loud
"Shit, I got money! Hell, any bitch would want me" he sat at his office chair "I can count on you though, you'll never leave me." His eyes gleamed at his desk
I squinted, trying to see who or what he was talking to. Soon, he picked up a small straw and snorted a line off his desk. My jaw slightly dropped as I stood there in disbelief- well somewhat disbelief. I always knew he was strange, but I never figured he'd be a cokehead.
"Wooo!" He shouted out, clapping his hands together before doing another
I pulled my phone from my purse, making sure my ringer was off, before taking a video of him repeatedly snorting big ass lines of cocaine.

"Maaa!" Kacey squealed with excitement as I entered their room
"Mekai, they're supposed to be sleep. It's almost 1 in the morning" I sighed, seeing them wide awake

"They took a nap, but woke up ready to play. I let 'em stay up since I was up waiting on you." He hugged me from behind
I shook my head, chuckling "You get on my nerves."
"Hellooo" Kason grinned, climbing the box of diapers
"Mommyyy!" Kacey shouted
"Hi you two, alright come on let's get down." I walked over to them
I hadn't even touched them yet before I was being told "No" by my one year olds
"Did you give them sugar?" I turned back to Mekai
That's the only time they act like this.
"Just a lil' dum dum." He referred to the lollipops
"And that's exactly who putting them back to sleep- a dum dum. I'm gonna shower." I left out of their room
Everybody just being hardheaded tonight.

After completing my nightly routine, I walked into our bedroom seeing Mekai and the twins asleep in our bed.
"Aww look at my big babies." I admired them before walking into the closet changing into my pajamas
I crawled into bed with them, immediately getting cuddles from all three of them. I smiled so big before returning the gesture, even though by morning I'd probably have a one of the twins' foot in my face.
