"Sweetheart, you need to get out of bed." Kyla's mom came in the room "Get some sunshine"
"Ain't no sunshine, it's raining outside... and in my heart" she began crying again
"My hormonal baby" her mom shook her head, sitting on the edge of the bed
"Mom, why do I feel like I'm going crazy?"
"You're 3 months pregnant Kyla" she chuckled "It's normal"
"Please stop saying that word" she groaned
"Don't tell me you're still thinking about-"
"Getting an abortion? Yes" she didn't want a baby right now, not like this
Her mom sighed "Sit up really quick" she pulled the covers off her head
"Yes mama?"
"I don't fully agree with your decision and you know that. But let me just say this, I thought about aborting you. Wanna know what changed my mind?"
"What?"
"Your grandma. She was upset that I had gotten pregnant at a young age, but she would've killed me if I got an abortion. She told me, no matter what you're going through, don't take the chance of that child having a better life."
"Mom..."
"That baby didn't ask to be born." She finished "Kyla if you don't want the baby, I'll raise it. Please just don't take an innocent life"
"My appointment is today" she shook her head
What her mom said kind of touched her heart, but she still stood by her answer.
Her mom nodded and left out, feeling herself about to cry.
Kyla sighed and got up, going to get ready for her appointment. Her phone dinged, and she checked it.
