That One Friend

I know you hate poetry,
And this will be cliche.
You'll find it gross and sappy.
I won't show you this unless you end up reading it.

Our music taste clash:
Along with our taste for guys.
Country boys and country are yours,
Artistic boys and Indie are mine.

You make me mad,
But only for a few seconds.
Our banter is not something most find pleasant;
But we're different.
10 years going strong.

We may not talk or hangout as much,
But that doesn't change the value our friendship holds.
We are opposites of another,
Wouldn't typically plant us as friends.

We've had issues in the past,
My fault really.
But I still love you as much as the day I first met you in kindergarten.
You were my first friend,
You'll always have a special place in my heart.
