Li Lianhua and Fang Duobing  finally entered one of the assigned room where they were greeted by the sight of a private pool at the entrance. With a mischievous grin, Li Lianhua playfully kicked Fang Duobing, sending him tumbling into the water with a splash.

"Li Lianhua, you're really testing my patience," Fang Duobing grumbled, before swiftly retaliating by yanking Li Lianhua into the water with him. "Looks like it's your turn now."

As the laughter echoed through the private bath, Fang Duobing and Li Lianhua found themselves caught in a moment of intense connection. Without hesitation, Fang Duobing and Li Lianhua closed the distance between them, their bodies drawn together in a passionate embrace. Their lips met in a fiery kiss, igniting a spark that seemed to transcend time and space.

As they came out of the pool their robes and hair wet, Fang Duobing found himself drawn to Li Lianhua's presence, his heart pounding with an inexplicable longing. "Why does he have such an effect on me?" Fang Duobing pondered, his thoughts swirling with confusion.

Li Lianhua's heart pounded in his chest and just as he reached the door, his hand hovering over the handle, Fang Duobing's grip tightened around his waist, halting his escape. The touch sent a jolt of electricity through Li Lianhua's body, causing him to hesitate. He turned to face Fang Duobing, his eyes widening with surprise and uncertainty.

Before Li Lianhua could react, Fang Duobing closed the distance between them, his lips meeting Li Lianhua's in a passionate embrace. The outside world ceased to exist as they surrendered to the intoxicating pull of their shared passion. Their hands intertwined, exploring each other's bodies with a hunger that couldn't be quenched.

As their embrace grew more fervent, the room became a whirlwind of chaos. Clothes were discarded haphazardly, furniture was overturned, and the palpable tension in the air fueled their desire even further. It was as if the universe conspired to create the perfect setting for their forbidden rendezvous.

[Lotus Tower]

Su Xiao awaited their arrival in the lotus tower, concern etched across her features as she took in Fang Duobing's pale complexion and evident discomfort. "What happened to you?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.

Li Lianhua motioned for them to sit down, prompting Fang Duobing to cautiously lower himself into a nearby seat. As they began to explain their need to locate the Lord of Netherlands, Su Xiao's curiosity piqued. "Why do you need to find him?" she inquired, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Li Lianhua waved off her question. "You don't need to know that," he replied dismissively.

With a nod, Su Xiao took her leave, promising to gather details and return. Left alone, Fang Duobing turned to Li Lianhua, his expression a mixture of frustration and concern. "Why do you keep putting me in harm's way?" he demanded, his voice tinged with irritation. "Do you want me dead?"

"Why blame me? You started it," Li Lianhua retorted sharply, his tone edged with frustration.

Fang Duobing was taken aback by Li Lianhua's sharp retort. "I... I didn't mean it that way," he stuttered, feeling a flush creep up his neck.

Li Lianhua folded his arms, a hint of frustration in his voice. "Well, you should have thought about that before you... started," he replied, his tone firm.

Fang Duobing sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I just didn't expect things to escalate like that," he admitted, his gaze dropping to the floor.

Li Lianhua softened slightly, noticing Fang Duobing's discomfort. "I know," he said, his voice gentler now. "But we can't change what happened. We need to focus on finding the Lord of Netherlands now."

Fang Duobing nodded, meeting Li Lianhua's gaze. "Right," he agreed, his tone more determined. "Let's set aside whatever happened and concentrate on the task at hand. I am leaving for Baichuan Academy and see what I can find there."

[Baichuan Academy]

Fang Duobing immersed himself in the archives of Baichuan Academy day after day, poring over ancient texts and scrolls. The servant's arrival with tea barely registered as he delved deeper into his research. It wasn't until he stumbled upon a mention of the Lord of Netherlands that he paused, his excitement palpable.

As he was about to delve further into his discovery, the servant interrupted with news of his master's summons. Fang Duobing followed obediently, finding himself facing Mr. Xiao and other seniors in the library.

"Ah, Fang Duobing, we've heard you've been spending quite some time with Li Lianhua," Mr. Xiao remarked, his tone questioning.

Fang Duobing straightened up, a defensive edge creeping into his voice. "He's just a physician," he replied, feeling the need to defend Li Lianhua against any insinuations.

"What were you both doing with Di Feisheng?" Mr. Xiao's voice cut through the air, his tone stern as he presented a portrait of Di Feisheng alongside Fang Duobing and Li Lianhua.

"He's not Di Feisheng. He's Fei, an old friend of Li Lianhua," Fang Duobing protested, his eyes fixed on the portrait.

"This is Di Feisheng, the one who killed your master, Li Xiangyi, five years ago," Mr. Xiao asserted, his words landing like a blow to Fang Duobing's gut.

Fang Duobing felt a surge of betrayal and anger. "Do you truly believe Li Lianhua is trustworthy? Can you be certain he's not associated with Di Feisheng and your master's demise?" Mr. Xiao pressed, his gaze piercing.

Fang Duobing's mind raced with a whirlwind of questions, leaving him feeling dizzy and disoriented.

"Go and bring him to Baichuan Court," Mr. Xiao's command snapped Fang Duobing back to reality. Shock crossed his face as he hastily left the court, his thoughts spinning with uncertainty and suspicion.

Sitting beside the river, Fang Duobing watched the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. The memories of his time with Li Lianhua flooded his mind, each moment etched with laughter and camaraderie. Yet, beneath the surface, doubt simmered like a hidden current.

Was Li Lianhua concealing a dark secret? Could he be involved in the death of Li Xiangyi? Fang Duobing's thoughts spiraled, each question fueling his growing uncertainty. The weight of suspicion pressed upon him, suffocating his trust and clouding his judgment.

Fang Duobing couldn't fathom the idea of betrayal from someone he had begun to trust so deeply. Lost in a haze of disbelief, he stared into the river's reflective surface, thoughts consumed by Li Lianhua's potential deception.

Suddenly, his gaze snagged on an object drifting in the water. With a jolt of alarm, Fang Duobing realized it was a body. Reacting swiftly, he plunged into the river and retrieved the unconscious figure.

To his astonishment, it was Di Feisheng, the very person linked to his master's demise. Without hesitation, Fang Duobing initiated CPR, desperate to revive the man who held crucial answers to his questions. Finally, Di Feisheng spluttered back to life, coughing up water as he regained consciousness.
