Lewis was sent to Camp Green Lake after getting caught breaking into a museum and robbing it's jewels.
While at Camp Green Lake, Lewis received the nickname Barfbag after vomiting on his bunk - the stain seen on the bunk Caveman (Stanley Yelnats IV) was issued.
One day, while digging his hole, Barfbag decided to get a rattlesnake to bite him so he could get out of Camp Green Lake.

He was then replaced by Stanley Yelnats IV. Barfbag was sent to a hospital to be treated for his bite and he never returned to Camp Green Lake. What happened to him after that is he ran away from the hospital and recovered, but it is unknown how he escaped from the hospital. In Stanley Yelnat's Guide to Surviving, it is hinted that Barfbag survived Camp Green Lake.
