Hello my lovelies! I hope everyone is having a good day because I am....not, lol. I've had a horrible fever and had to edit a project for my class. So not fun when you have to use Premiere and After Effects and feeling like your body is boiling on the inside and you feel like....number 2. Either way, I am feeling much better and was randomly inspired to write this chapter because of an old best friend I was catching up on. We started talking about my book and I just couldn't wait to write! So I personally dedicate this chapter to her (even though she's not on here). You can all thank her my lovely readers who have been waiting patiently and haven't had the urge to randomly come down to Miami and force me to write lol.

Enough of my blabbering....ENJOY! ♥

These last few days have been mundane, if I do say so myself. At first I was primarily cooped up in Marcus' room entertaining myself by annoying Alex whenever possible; that is, if he was even in the room. Most of the time he would keep me company for the sake of Marcus' request after he had been so busy doing who knows what. It worried me to no end and whenever I had the chance to ask, he'll quickly change the subject to something else, irritating me further. I could always feel my curiosity and impatience take over when we were together, even after our heart to heart talk about Malcolm and his mother, but the frustration in his brow and exhaustion in his eyes made me hold my tongue. For some reason, I found it impossible to calm him down these days, which is really saying something when my very own scent used to do its justice. Is there something wrong with me?

My heart ached as I looked out the window, looking down at the front yard. It was completely devoid of any living creature or vehicle. I couldn't help but worry for Marcus and I. I know he's had his days where he was completely busy in the past and I would simply have to put up with his absence by distracting myself with my friends or homework, but this time it was entirely different. Sometimes I felt he was completely avoiding me altogether for some reason. I couldn't blame him though. I know how much he missed me and craved for my return to the pack, but that didn't exactly mean he wasn't still hurt by my haste decision to abandon everything without a second glance to see the destruction I had caused. His most of all.

As those thoughts clouded my mind, a single question appeared before my eyes. Was it the right decision to return? I mean, I couldn't be happier seeing everyone again, being with him again. I was home, and yet I felt completely distant from everything I used to know and love. Even when I would head downstairs and mingle with the few pack members that would venture these halls, despite their utmost respect they had for me as their future Luna, I could still see another hidden emotion in the depths of their eyes. It was the same for all of them, even Lucia who would still talk animatedly about how her day went regardless. Thinking about it now, I finally realized what that hidden emotion was: disappointment. Disappointment on my actions and how careless I was two years ago. Disappointment in envisioning a strong human Luna taking her place beside her Alpha and leading the pack to a brighter future, only to be completely deceived. Disappointment in how much I nearly killed him, their future leader, a man they highly respected and looked up to in times of need. A man they relied on to protect them during any attack. A man who they stood proudly by his side despite the situation. But weren't they right to feel that way? I gave them reason to feel such emotions towards me. I deserved every disappointed stare that headed my way, day in and day out. Now whether I could make it up to them was a completely different question. But most importantly, how could I make it up to him?

I let out a heavy sigh, rubbing my chest as an empty void began to form beneath my fingertips. It was something I had been feeling for quite some time and the nagging sensation was practically beginning to burn. Looking down, I noticed a small car pull up the driveway and come to a slow stop. The driver's side door opened up in one swift movement and I could see Ethan climbing out, closing the door behind him before making his way quickly to the passenger side. As he opened the door, he pulled his hand out and a smaller, lighter hand took his palm with ease. Sarah stepped out of the vehicle carefully, no doubt Ethan watching her every move and making sure she wouldn't trip over or anything. I couldn't help but smile at how he treated her like a precious China doll that was bound to break if he were to take his eyes off it for merely a second. Sarah seemed to snap at him and shoo him away before making her way to the front door. Ethan shook his head in defeat before trailing behind her.
