This one is based on the 15 year old Shawn, when he started his career.

Y/N's perspective

"Hey, promise me you won't forget about me." I smile weakly, looking into his glossy eyes.

"Never." He says as he comes closer to me for a hug.

"Great. Well... I think you have to go now." I tell him as I notice his father and mother waiting for him, his sister already sitting in the car.

"Hmm... I will miss you, Y/N. And remember, we can only have one best friend. I'm yours and you're mine, understood ?"

I chuckle a little at his words. He's so possessive sometimes. But I somehow find that cute. He really cares about me, and he's probably the only one besides my parents.

"Of course, Shawn. Come on, don't keep your parents waiting. And thank them for me. They've always been so nice." I tell him, tears in the corner of my eyes, but a now bright smile on my face.

He nods and hugs me one last time. He then takes his backpack and starts to walk to his parents.

"Oh, Y/N ! You can come whenever you want ! There's always room for you !" He yells from the other side of the road.

I nod and smile quickly while wiping away a tear that was rolling down my cheek. He hops in the car, and a few moments later, the packed vehicle starts up. I stay on the porch until I can't see the car anymore.

That's it. My best friend and neighbor since I can walk is gone for another city.

But he promised me we would keep in touch, right ?

I'm in the car with my mom who came to pick me up at school after a long and boring day. We've been speaking about a project I have to finish for Thursday, and she doesn't believe that I'll be able to have it done in time.

"Mom ! I tell you I just have to write the last chapter, the conclusion and check my spelling. It shouldn't be that long." I roll my eyes for the 1000th time of the ride.

"I think you underestimate the time it can take, that's it." She shrugs and turns to the left to enter our neighborhood.

"You should do your homew-"

"Mom ! Turn up the volume !" I yell, cutting her off.

She gets scared but obeys and a well-known voice is now resonating in the car.

"I-It's Shawn's voice, Mom." I stutter, my eyes wide open.

"Come on, darling. What are you saying ?" She speaks as if I've just said the dumbest thing on earth.

"I tell you it's Shawn ! I can recognize his voice ! I've heard it enough to know !" I get irritated, knowing it is my ex best friend's voice.

He promised me we would still be best friends even if he had to move, but, in fact, we kept texting and calling each other everyday at first, but soon, we spoke less and less as days passed to eventually stop talking.
It was painful to acknowledge we lost our friendship like that, but after a while, I got used to it. I should've known... No promises and everything is easier.

I hate social media in general. It's just a easy way bad people can use to hurt other innocent people. And what do you want me to post anyway ? My life is quite simple and doesn't need to be exposed. But because of my hate towards social media, I haven't been able to get news or updates from Shawn as much as I wanted to. Maybe it kind of accelerated the process of forgetting each other. Whatever...
