Vál smiled down at the small boy in Aslaug's arms. Lagertha had excused herself a long time ago as Helga had told the others about the news. The small boy in the Queen's embrace had slowly opened his eyes and Vál's eyes widen for what felt like the hundredth time this day. He had magically ocean blue eyes, his whites almost seemed blue as well. The young woman was fascinated to say at least but the sound of someone clearing their throat got her back to reality.

Ragnar stood by the door with a neutral expression on his face. Vál looked down at Aslaug and gave her a smile even if she was only looking at Ragnar. Vál squeezed the Queen's shoulder before walking towards the door. Before she left she stopped by Ragnar and gave him a smile as their eyes met.

"Congrats to your son Ragnar." Vál said before leaving, Ragnar only nodded before walking up to his wife. He looked down at the child, his expression didn't reveal anything. He swallowed before looking at his wife, meeting her eyes.

"Your prophesy was right wife." Ragnar said after moving the blanket to see the small boys legs and Aslaug remained quiet. Both of them knew that the small infant in the Queen's arms probably wouldn't survive for long due to its sickness. Ragnar moved away to sit on the edge, creating a distance between himself and the child in his wife arms. He rubbed his face with his hands before standing up, he looked down at his son before leaving the cabin. He walked towards the great hall, deciding to sleep there the following dark hours.

The hours went by to quick for anyone who had been involved in the birth of the new prince. Vál had been awoken by three familiar children running inside her cabin, shaking her awake. She let out a groan before slowly opening her eyes, smiling when she saw Ubbe, Hvitserk and Sigurd sitting around her.

"Why are you up so early?" She asked and saw up as she let out a yawn.

"We've gotten a baby brother Vál!" Hvitserk said excitedly and she chuckled. "His name's Ivar!" He continued quickly and she smiled.

"Ivar! What a great name." She said and they all nodded in unison.

"Come! You have to see him!" Ubbe said and pulled her arm as they left the bed. Instead of telling them she already had seen the child she chuckled at their excitement and followed them. She gripped her jacket with her but they didn't give her the time to put it on. In only a thin shirt and her black pants she literally had past out in the night before. Her braided hair was messy but it didn't bother her. Without knocking or anything they rushed inside the royal chambers with Vál hot on their heels. Aslaug looked up from the small infant in her arms, a smile when she saw her sons rushing inside. Vál gave the new mother a apologetic look but the Queen realized her other sons eagerness to show of their new brother.

"Look Vál!" Sigurd said and she gave him smile before ruffling his blond hair. Vál put on her jacket as a shiver ran down her spine.

"Vál has already seen Ivar, she was here when he was born." Aslaug said and even if Vál had been present she still found the small infant fascinating. Ivar had his eyes open, showing off his incredibly blue eyes to the world. Sigurd moved up to sit next to his mother to get a better look at his baby brother, his eyes wide with admiration.
