"Uh... Jay?" I said, unsure.
"Yeah, Jay Calvin. This is still Samara's number right?" He asked.
"Yeah. Yeah, it is, sorry. I just haven't heard from you in a while?" I told him.
Little recap for ya. Jay was indeed my ex boyfriend from high school. We broke up two months after graduation because get this: he cheated on me. We dated from freshman year all the way until two months after graduation. What a waste of time.
Yet, little selfless, idiotic me still loved him for so long after that. We even ended on good terms. We still considered ourselves friends and even talked daily after that. Up until college started and we both went our separate ways.
Until now.
"I'm in Toronto? I think you live you here? Did you want to meet up?" He asked. "We're still good right?"
"I have Kora, I don't think-"
"I'd love to meet her." He said. "I'd love to see you again."
"Sure. We can get lunch later if you want." I offered.
"Sounds good. Just text me a place and time and I'll meet you there."
"Okay."
I sighed and took a deep breath after hanging up. Ever since meeting Shawn, I had completely forgotten about Jay. Maybe even up til I met him I was still caught up on Jay. How lame right? Stuck on your cheating ex for a little over a year? Pathetic.
Shawn changed my entire life. Not just by Kora either. I was in a deep sadness watching the world move on without me. Then I met him and everything changed.
I was in the midst of changing Kora into an outfit to go out, and believe me, we had tons, when Shawn had decided to FaceTime me.
I gladly answered and sat down on the bed next to Kora as his voice rang through the speaker, "Hello, my love."
"Hey, babe." I said, smiling as I saw his face.
"I'm in between meetings and I just wanted to check up on my girls." He said.
