Here we go again mom,
you know there's something I've kept to myself till this day,
something very valuable about the guy you told me to leave.

He carries gold on his back,
see it's all that melanin across his shoulders,
it's the dark brown colour of his eyes;
he burns the room with his reddish lips and sets my soul in despair.

His heart is as red as my little nose
in the coldest of days.

It's the strong and tight curly texture of his hair,
as deep as a forest that made me get lost and that's why I think I can't come back home to you, mom.

His back keeps a whole country,
his back holds all the things stolen from him,
his back carries hate for whom is coming for more,
across his hips there's waves that his past self has swam to get to where he once thought he belonged.

"Make no dog come for more",
he whispered that night to the moon,
with rain slipping down his dark cheeks as dark as the sky with the Gemini constellation,
"No human other than me will,
not till the day I rest my eyes,"
I reassured him with shaking voice,
then rested my head on his mind and my stomach on his back.
