Hide And Seek

It's our day off and we're bored. We don't want to do the same thing every time we have some free time. Tibbles gave Bombay keys to a new place - it's huge. He's letting us hang out in the new place whilst he's out doing press stuff. Somehow the idea of exploring turned into hide and seek. As Portman starts counting, we frantically find places to hide.

"Back off, Averman." Connie scolds him as they go for the same spot.

Still trying to find a room to stay in, I pass Goldberg hiding in the bathroom. He's not gonna last long. I sprint into the room furthest from Portman. Connecting to it is a large walk-in-wardrobe. The far right corner is the perfect place. Moving suitcases, I curl up in the corner under piles of clothes and blankets with other clothes hanging above me. As I'm still trying to get it perfect, Charlie runs in.

"Oh, sorry. Good spot."

"Thanks. Hey, can you slide the suitcases over? Gotta make sure everything looks normal."

"Good thinking." He quickly moves the suitcases into place. "I'm gonna hide under the bed - if he finds me, you'll hear."

"Good luck. Whatever you do, don't tell him I'm here."

Settled in our spaces, we quiet down and prepare to stay for a while. The silence is quickly disrupted by the echoing of Dean's booming voice.

"Times up! No-one's safe!"

As time goes by, I wish I knew what was going on outside of this room. I wonder who's out already. It's been so long that I can't tell if I can hear Portman nearby or if I'm going insane.

"Come on, man!" I hear from down the hall.

Crap, he got Goldberg. Along with the muffled chuckles, there's some voices I can't pinpoint. Is he teaming up with the people he's caught? The collection of footsteps gets louder before the door creaks open.

"Someone's gotta be in here." I hear Dean say from the main part of the room.

"Who's left?" Julie asks.

"Y/N, Charlie and Ken." Fulton answers.

"Feels like it's unfair having Ken play."   Connie whines.

"Yeah, he can squeeze himself into anywhere." Guy joins in.

"Ha! Better luck next time, Charlie."

No, not Charlie. This is it, me vs Ken. I don't know where he is, but I'm far from safe. The chatter continues just outside and I fear Charlie is gonna say something.

"I got a feeling you know where one of them is." Dean says.

"I don't know what you're on about."

"I think you do."

"Spill it."

"Sorry, Portman. There's nothing to spill." His confidence quickly turns to defeat. "Okay, fine." He better not.

"Atta boy."

"Y/N's in the walk-in-closet." That motherfucker.

The closet door opens as my time quickly fades away. Clothing hangers clang as he hits the hanging clothes.

"I know you're in here, Y/N. Where's she at, Charlie?"

"Behind the suitcases."

Dean quickly pushes past the suitcases. He grabs the blankets and hoodies from on top of me and tosses them behind him.

"Found you!"

"Dammit!" He helps me up. "You sold me out?" I shout.

"About that..."

"I'm gonna kill you!"

Charlie instantly starts running away. I chase him through the mansion shouting threats as the others follow us. In the main room, I tackle him, knocking us both over the couch opposite other Ducks. Beating the shit out of him, I say:

"What the hell, Spazway? You said you wouldn't tell him!"

From behind me, Averman turns to Fulton and says, "I thought you would've stopped her by now."

"He screwed her over - just letting her have a little fun first." He shrugs. Seeing it turn into a vicious attack, he quickly lifts me off of Charlie. "Alright, that's enough."

"Ken! Come out! You won!" Luis calls out.

A minute later, Kenny walks into the room. With everyone in the room, we get ready for another game - no going in our previous places. Before Ken starts counting, I warn everyone:

"Don't let Charlie know where you are, he'll rat you out."

"Get over it."

"Bite me."

Kenny begins his countdown and we flee once again. This time, nobody is gonna ruin my chances. It's on.
