A dark sunset on a far distant shore
Reflecting iridescent lights of ages past
Bathed in memory of reflected times
Tranquil lapping by the shore
The skip of pebbles across the waves
Silent tears of joy trickle down
Soaked up by hungry sands
Absorbing moisture's sweetness
The man gazes in awed wonder
As coloured strange lights shine
Records of ancient times
Monoliths of everlasting brilliance
Rising to meet the setting sun
Grasping for the last light
Ran the castaway crying
Of long lost dreams of seafaring
Blustering gales aboard ship
Rigging a mess, sails furled
Engulfed by crushing waves
Swept off the safe decks
Onto an island paradise
Where the reawakening of life complete
Wrestles still his tired mind
Calming his restless nerves
Stilled breath
He awakes once again
Renewing the bright morning flight
Determined to enjoy the fruit of peace
Till rescue comes
Knowing he is safe from all
But passing time
