"Confuse not love with the raptures of possession, which brings the cruelest of sufferings. For not withstanding the general opinion, love does not cause suffering: what causes it is the sense of ownership, which is loves opposite"
{Antoine de Saint Exupery}

R-Rafael. I know you're angry right now but I think you should c-calm down" I put my hands out before me.

I guess that didn't work as he inched forward, slowly, like a predator.

"Why don't we play a game, love. I'll give you ten seconds to hide, and if I find you, you'll stay here. With me. In my room. But, if the opposite happens, you're free to go"

"No! I don't want to play your sick games, I want to go-"

"Ten"

Stomping to where he was, I looked right at him. Who does he think he is, making a deal with me which I haven't even accepted.

"I'm getting the feeling you want to stay with me tonight, my sweet. Although I'd be loving every second of it"

"Now, seven" my eyes widened. I ran out of the room, faster than Usain Bolt could finish a hundred metres and looked around in panick. Where do I go? This house was like a maze!

"Four!" His voice drawled out casually. Whereas my heart beat erratically.

I ran down the stairs in record time, as I could hear the door slam shut from above. He must be out looking for me. I rushed towards the huge front room. I had no time to admire the beauty.

The floor to ceiling curtains seemed like a great place to hide. He wouldn't ever know I'm here. So I rushed behind them, and shifted the curtains in order to make them look as natural as possible.

Right now all I had to do was wait. My hand was placed over my chest in an attempt to calm it down. It was beating too loud. I feared the demons assassin skills would be able to pick up on it.

"Come out come out wherever you are, kitten" his deep voice sang out from close by. How did he know I was downstairs. Must've heard me stomping down like an elephant.

"You can run, but you can't hide" his voice was near. If possible, my heartbeat increased much more. If he found me, I'd be stuck here for the night. And I didn't want that. Not at all.

There was a sudden silence. My ears were straining to hear something, anything. It was almost like the silence before the storm.

It was then I heard footsteps retreating away from the room. The lights also suddenly went off. I sighed in relief. Peeling away the curtains seemed like a scary task, now that it was dark and also extremely quiet.

Thankfully there was no sight of the demon. With hesitant steps, I came out of my hiding and tentatively walked towards the door. It was hard to see anything.

What was he playing at? Did he think I'm upstairs? No. That couldn't be it.

Nevertheless I stepped outside the room, on high alert as I glanced to the left and then the right. Good. No sign of the demon.

I walked forwards apprehensively towards the kitchen. All that running and my nerves going haywire made me extremely thirsty. My heart rested at the empty kitchen. I didn't know where the light switch was located so I instead used my phone to manoeuvre around.

Finally locating the sink, I rinsed and filled the glass, which was situated on the countertop, to the very top. Bismillah. And I drank.

"Boo" a deep voice suddenly said causing me to choke on the water. A series of uncontrollable coughs were let out as I tried to breath. I could feel a large hand gently hitting me from the back in an attempt to bring the water back up.
