Nandini's pov

I always wanted to sit in the cockpit and fly planes but never in my life, I thought that I'd be sitting with Manik.

The feeling itself is so overwhelming which I can't explain. The sea below and the sky above us, Seeing that it's night, the uncountable stars are just adding lights and happiness in the surrounding.

For the first time in my life, Manik made me happiest without even knowing.

I was busy experiencing and analysing every small details of my unexpected flight, while he was communicating with the ATC

All this while, I was grinning like anything.

" So, Co-pilot how is it? " He asked once he finished talking with the ATC

" Its its its- oh god its-" I grinned but not able to form any sentence because of my excitement level

" Tell me once we land, okay? " He said smiling at me to which I nodded vigorously

I was having my time of life, when suddenly a strong gust of air hit the aircraft resulting in turbulence.

I immediately looked towards Manik, who was already trying to contact ATC " UA-497 declaring emergency. Experienced major turbulence resulting a bird hit"

He shouted the same sentence again and again but because of the network issue never got heard.

" Fuck,the engine caught fire and Instruments are not showing the right readings" he again yelled after a few minute making my eyes go wide

All this while, I was just blank but now, My hands started sweating thinking that this is it. This is how I'm going to die.

I was literally shivering on the seat and praying to God when suddenly he spoke

" Do something " I heard Manik saying which stops my breath

" Huh? " I stated to no one in particular

" Do something, Nandini " he said this time looking at me

" M-Me? H-How could I " I asked pointing my fingers to myself

" You studied this. You are an Aerospace Engineer " he reminded almost shouting on me

At that time, my mind was blank. I don't even remember what are the basic 4 forces of Aircraft and he is telling me to find the solution of a plane whose engine caught fire and Instruments are not giving right readings.

" I-I can't. I d-don't know. Yo-you are Pilot, you-you should k-know " I started panicking

" Fuck. I hold PPL only, I rarely fly aircrafts and you're. a. fucking. Aerospace. Engineer." He shouted on me taking pause in every words, while looking at the front trying to maneuver the plane

By seeing him, I knew he's getting annoyed by my answer but what should I do?

" Manik, I-I can't " seeing him shouting, I whispered this time on the verge of crying

He looked at me for a sec and took a deep breath before continuing "Nandini, You already know this. Yes, I know you've never faced this kind of situation but I'm pretty sure that you've knowledge on what to do when these kind of situation comes. I trust your capability, now the question is do you trust yourself ? "

A drop of tear rolled my eyes when he continued " Now take a deep breath, calm down and think. I know you can"

I did what he said, I closed my eyes taking a deep breath and tried to calm myself down but failed miserably
