the chapter!

Ana's POV
After dodging other cars, some speeding, and a shortcut, we managed to beat Jesse to my house. We were even able to drop off Leia even though we didn't fully stop in front of her house. I just slowed down enough for her to jump out.

As I pulled into my driveway, I noticed Kane's car was there, which was pretty strange. I eyed his car as I check the front door. It was unlocked.

"Hey, isn't that Kane's car?" Jason asked from behind me. I nodded my head and pushed open my door.

Inside, I found Kane passed out on my couch clutching a pillow to his head. What is he doing here? I thought curiously.

After the guys sat down on the other couches and chairs, I squatted down in front of Kane's face. He shifted ever so slightly and crinkled his nose in his sleep. He's so adorable. I smiled as I poked his nose, hoping he would awake.

Kane's eyelids fluttered open slowly and he flashed me a smile when our eyes connected. While rubbing his eyes, he greeted, "Hey, Pretty Brown Eyes."

"Hey, Kane," I greeted back. "What are you doing here?" He sat up on the couch, letting out a huge yawn, before answering, "I was bored."

"How exactly did you get in?" I interrogated as I stood up from my crouching position. "Spare key," he told me as he patted the spot next to him.

Interesting. "Kane?" I said as I sat next to him. "Yeah?" "I've never told you where I hid the spare key." He blinked twice. He looked as if he was contemplating something.

"You remembered where I hid it, didn't you?" I asked, feeling giddy inside and a grin slowly spreading on my lips. "Yeah, I think I did," he told me, returning the smile.

Kane's POV
I can't tell her. I can't tell her I remember everything, not just where she hid the spare key.

I wanted to let her know. I wanted to do badly, but I couldn't.

I was planning a big surprise for her. Something big. That's why she can't know. Well, not just yet.

I needed to contact Nate and Sabrina. We had some planning to do.

Ana's POV
"Ana, I'm hungry!" Adam complained with a pouty face. I groaned and rolled my eyes as the other boys added, "Me too."

"Fine. I'll go make something," I huffed. "Yay!" they cheered. I went into the kitchen with Kane following close behind me.

"What are you going to make?" he questioned, licking his lips. "Pizza rolls," I told him as I shuffled in the freezer for the bag.

I heard the doorbell chime and I shouted, "Someone get the door!" "I got it!" Ash called back.

"Hey!" I heard Jesse yell from the living room. "Where's Ana?" he asked. "Over here!" I called. Jesse came sprinting into the kitchen at full speed. I yelped as he scooped me up in his arms and gave me a hug resembling an anaconda's. "Jesse," I gasped, "I can't breathe."

He set me down smiling like an idiot. "You're amazing, you know that?" he told me. "Thank you, Jesse. Now go tell the guys all about your amazing date with Raven," I commanded.

Jesse scurried off, looking like a little kid on Christmas.

As I put the pizza rolls in the oven, Kane jumped up on the counter top, not taking his eyes off me.

"Something on your mind?" I asked after closing the oven door.

"Yeah, actually," he answered cautiously. "Well? Go ahead. You can tell me," I encouraged.

He fiddled nervously with his fingers before saying, "I was wondering if you wanted to get coffee with me next Friday?"

Butterflies swarmed my stomach and my heart leaped to my throat. All I could do was nod vigorously.

"Great!" he exclaimed as he slid off the counter. "I've got to run, Pretty Brown Eyes. See you later!" Kane said excitedly before planting a kiss on my cheek.

I just stood there, stunned by the turn of events.
