Dark nights filled with lights
Stars shimmer, trees glitter, and
Steaming tea glows gold.

1.
What are 3 words that describe your writing?

Adventurous
Lighthearted
Experimental

2.
What does poetry mean to you?

I like that it's a story but in song form, since songs and lyrics stick easily in my head. A poem can describe a single scene, event, feeling, or even a whole story depending on the length, and there's a different rhythm to each one. Poetry can be very immersive and reflective, too, like a form of meditation.

3.
What is your favourite kind of poetry?

I tend to like narrative poems that tell a whole story, limericks, or haikus the most, but I don't know if I can say I have an absolute favorite, to read or write.

4.
Can you give us a little background on your haiku for Tea in Winter Season contest?

Sure! I was thinking a bit in terms of opposites - hot and cold, dark and light.

When I think of Winter, it is the coldest, darkest season. Lights become really important during the longer nights - there are so many songs about Christmas lights, stars shining, snow glimmering, etc., and I had an image in mind of a glass teapot with the golden tea steeping inside, illuminated by the lights around it to make it seem like it was giving off its own glow.

5.
What advice would you give to your fellow poets?

Have fun and write what inspires you!

6.
What's your favourite poem in the whole world?

Anybody Want a Peanut?
Okay, but on a more serious note, probably either The Tyger by William Blake or Quiet Night Thought by Li Bai.
