Robust

My heart is anything but robust,
Please don't break it

I'd bleed for love and swim through the curses seeping

I'm far from frail, hunt into my depths and hold it's every bit

I have never seen a hero look at a villains heart, guilty and weeping

But if saving grace is you've ever known,
Please don't abandon my scattered soul.

Hello Aesthetes!

Here we have with us achlysgrell winner and runner up of the following days:
🔺Day 6 Robust
🔺Day 7 Harmonious
of versification 2023.

🎈1. What was your favourite prompt in Versification?

Harmonious- Challenge Prompt.

🎈2. Share with us your favourite poem/entry you wrote for versification.

Harmonious

honey is the hue of your orbs,
adored by the golden traces of the sun

cherry is the pigment on your cheeks,
that vanishes through the muzzle of my gun

melancholic is the tune of my voice and the shadow of my eyes

I breath malice as we dance to my grievance, inhale your scent before my death

neither of us can seal it well,
the harmony we share parallel to heaven and hell.

🎈3. What are three words that you'd describe your writing?

Metaphoric, evocative, intricate.

🎈4. What is the inspiration behind your poetry/writing?

I aspired to compose a poetic memoir delving into a villain's unrequited romantic emotions for the hero, who remains focused on others, viewing the villain solely as an adversary and a looming danger.

🎈5. Do you have a favourite Poet or Poetress?

Taylor Swift if you would also consider her as one. Her lyrics are mostly my inspiration when writing a poem.

🎈6. What was your favourite part of Versification?

Reading different versification entries! There are so many talented poets and it's refreshing to read their unique takes with the prompts.

🎈7. If you could meet one poet, dead or alive, who would it be?

William Shakespeare.

🎈8. What style of poetry/writing do you write normally?

Rhetorical free verse poem and prose poetry!

🎈9. What is your favourite poem you've ever written and what inspired it or is the story behind it?

My favorite poem I've ever written is entitled Mirrorball which is basically inspired by Taylor's song. I wrote this in the middle of my academic breakdown because there's so much going on in university and I cannot afford to have below average grades. I would like to share some verses from it. This poem is very raw and dry for me, almost just like a cry/rant yet I would claim this as my favorite piece since the vulnerability of my emotions is evident (at least for me).

"trials and errors, they see through me
inhaling misery, drowning in mistakes
I kept it hidden but inevitable
all I do is try, try, try, I'd cry

I write my name with pen and paper
and eye for invisible daggers pointing at me
the ink runs with the pace of my tear
failures hurt more than curses"
