Chapter 73

Peter's Pov

I wake up and think back to the events of last night.  Steve and I's first cooking class, and how it ended with Steve and I putting out a fire and evacuating the building.

It all started to go wrong when each started cooking..

(^._.^)ノ flashback (^._.^)ノ

Reading over the recipe, I quickly become overwhelmed and wish I had payed more attention earlier.

I am definitely NOT ready to make this.

Focus Peter, I tell myself and try to push away the doubts.

I decide to take some deep breaths like Steve led us through on our Costco trip. I take a deep breath in and breath out, letting the bad energy leave me.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH..RAAWWRRRAWR" I finish, and surprisingly feel a lot better.

Everyone has turned towards me with very concerned looks, except Steve.

"Nice deep breaths Peter, good job releasing that bad energy!" He smiles at me from his cooking station.

I flash him a smile before preparing myself to make the best pasta ever.

I read through the recipe card again, this time with a confident positive mindset.

I start with the first step, easy, boil water.

I throw the pasta in with the water and cover it, moving onto the next step. Easy.

I grab the vegetables and quickly wash them.

Cutting them into bite size chunks, I read the next steps over and start on the sauce.

I whip through the sauce and go back to the vegetables.

I add cheese and throw it all in a bowl.

Everything's going great and I'm feeling pretty good about my pasta until the instructor comes over.

"Hey Peter, how's it - Oh my god what are you going!?"

"Hey!" I give him a smile and he doesn't return it.

"Peter what are you doing?" he asks flustered as he rushes to my stove.

The pot's overflowed and the stove's covered in bubbling water that's burning on the stove top.

"Oh! has it been ten minutes already?" I ask as I walk over to it and pick the pot up.

"Wow that's hot!" I throw the pot in the air in reaction as the instructor shouts to put it down.

The lid fly's off and some pasta spills out and water splashes everywhere.

Everything goes to slow motion as I jump up and grab the pot, swinging it out infront of me in an attempt to catch all my pasta and water.

Some still spills, but I'm able to catch most of it, and I quickly put it down on the counter.

Without looking I reach my hand behind me and catch the pot lid.

My hands tingle from the heat, "Ahh hot!"

I turn to the instructor, "Sorry what were you saying?"

He stares at me with his mouth open. "I..uh, hands, how.. what?"

I awkwardly smile a little, not sure what to do.

"Um, how's my pasta looking?"

He closes his mouth, looks around my kitchen, opens it then looks back at me and closes it again.
