Chapter Forty: The Brewing Storm

Ellie's POV

it's midnight and it has been two months since Kayden was out of reach, but not completely. Weve been receiving his gifts and messages..

Kayden...

"mom, you're still awake" Kaleb rubbed his eyes

"yup honey.. I am just worried for your dad" I said and smiled at him

"Dad's fine dont worry" He said coolly

I admire Kaleb's nonchalant attitude, He really is his father's splitting image.

"yeah hun. He's fine. C'mom let's tuck you to sleep" I said and arranged him to lie down again and covered him with his blanky

"Goodnight mum. i love you" Kaleb said

"Goodnight hun, i love you more" and kissed him on his forehead

when i heard Kalebs relaxed breathing i went out for a night walk on the garden

I was about to go to the pool area when i heard Ginny's voice not far away

" Kayden.. you're gonna come here?" Ginny asked

I gasped and ran hurriedly and before ginny could react i grabbed his phone

"Kayden.." i said in the phone

there was a long pause before i heard his deep yet magnetic voice

"Ellie".. even if i cannot see his face, i hear longing from his voice

i tried so hard to suppress my tears and tried not to choke on my next words...

" I.. i trust you..just remembwr to be healthy.. and please.. comeback to us" I said

"oh love.. i will ,i'll come back.. i promise" He said

then its an eerie silence between us

" Elle.. i love you and the kids, but i need to go..i love you..." He said

repeating again and again that He loves me.. and our kids

i could not stop my tears from falling this time

" I love you too..ill see you soon." i smiled and returned the phone to Ginny

Ginny then went on a distance so i could not hear their conversations anymore

Kayden.. please..be safe..

Kayden's POV

"Ginny, are the preparations complete?" i asked

"Yes,.. but..." i paused and made sure no one was listening

" Kayden...you'll come here?" i asked

before i could hear his answer

someone forcefully grabbed the phone

i was startled but when i looked, it was ellie

"Kayden.." she said while trying to hold back her tears

i can't help but symphatize with ellie

It must have been so hard on her.. it has been two months...

listening to their conversation.. i could.not help but be angry..

They dont deserve this kind of situation.. they have been through a lot

i saw Kayden sacrifice a lot.. when he was young up until now

I just want him to be happy.. when He has finally found his sunshine.. the world seems to act up again and deprive him of that sunshine

Now i saw ellie couldnt hold back his tears as she started to cry

She returned to me my phone

I looked at her with an apologetic look..

I walked few distance away from her enough so she could.not hear what we will talk.about

" so.. what's the plan?" I asked kayden

" two days from now, I will go there.. i think it's not safe anymore for them
. I will transfer them to a safer villa.. the one where we have underworld jurisdiction" He said

"oh.. The Hills?" i asked

" yes.. it is safer there..in two days time
.prepare everything" Kayden said

" okay..got it" I said

and he ended the call

in two days... that means.. Kayden is gonna face black in two days time

I hope.. i hope this storm will soon pass and dissolve..
