sorry made a couple changes. not major ones j a new type of werefox thing. plant based one

it was 2am when stiles gave up trying to sleep, he knew it would fail and all he got was 1 and 1/2 hours of sleep. he was restless though, his mind flooded with thoughts and they were threatening to overflow.

as silently as he could he crept down the stairs, all the doors were locked, he checked on the first night and it's not like he could break windows, they hear him breath let alone smash through glass.

he headed to the kitchen and grabbed an energy drink. he cracked it open in the soft light of the fridge and took a long gulp, relishing in the sugary taste.

he shot a glance to the training room. knowing he couldn't sleep he decided he might as well get some training in.

derek had given him a couple of drills for work outs but he started with normal stuff, treadmill, pull ups and weight lifting.

once those were out the way stiles moved on the his power based workouts. he focused on his breathing, taking in deep breaths and slowly letting them out, he tried to move the pen off the ground. it shook a little but stayed down. he tried it again, it hovered a few centimetres up before spluttering and falling back down. stiles cursed and threw his hands up in anger, the pen shot to the roof and lodged itself in the tile, bits of plaster floated down from where it landed. stiles sighed. this wasn't working and he couldn't understand why.

deciding he needed to research up on himself since derek clearly had no plan or training with werefoxes, stiles carefully climbed the stairs and looked for a library. he was pretty sure he had passed one on his way to his room. he crept past scott's room silently.

sure enough he was right so with quiet  steps he walked in and shut the wooden door behind him. when he flicked on the light stiles stood in awe there were endless books from fiction to non fiction. he stared star struck at the endless leather bounded books surrounding him. stiles knew this was his new favourite room.

they were alphabetically sorted so he started with books on foxes, he grabbed three before moving to the werefox section. there was significantly less on them, only two, one on how to kill them and another on their specialities. stiles took both.

he carried the five books to a conveniently placed sofa and began to read.

the fox books didn't hold much information except foods to be wary of, favourite snacks and personality traits: don't eat grapes, raisins, coffee (too late and stiles was fine so he brushed that off) favroire foods: berries, cheese and bread. then for personality traits mischievous, badly behaved, untrusting and quick.

stiles put those books back and moved on to werefoxes. he found out there were six types of werefoxes, electrical based ones, plant, water, fire, and air. in another section there were 'nogitsunes'  which were dark fox spirits which possessed people and controlled them. stiles shivered at the thought. he didn't seem to fit in any of these, none of them had anything to do with purple eyes it seemed. so that's what he looked for, he searched for anything to do with purple eyes, adamant on knowing all there was to know: when he found it he furrowed his eyebrows confusion radiation off him. it meant he had joined a pack and therefore got stronger.

stiles furrowed his brows, he hadn't joined a pack... how could he have? he frantically scoured the shelves for anything on packs and their behaviours. his eyes landed on a worn out brown one and he snatched it off the shelf. he flicked through pages quickly until he suddenly stopped. a paragraph had caught his eye.

-someone can be accepted into a pack three different ways, one: their mate is in that pack and the mate accepts them as a part of the pack. two: more than half the pack views them as a member and three: getting bitten by the alpha-

stiles was even more confused, it couldn't have been the last one. or whatever the first one meant so... he looked up in realisation. half of the people here accepted him. stiles felt an odd amount of joy bubble up in his stomach at this knowledge. he scolded himself, reminding himself that they were kidnappers and he didn't join by choice. yet that nagging thought admitted that all things considered he was happy with who he had met, regardless of how intimidating they were.

it was short lived as derek walked in. they froze. derek looked at stiles, then to the handful of books scattered around him, stiles looked at dereks then the cup of tea in his hands.

stiles glanced at his watch

4am

no way was derek awake now. his wasn't normal.

"why are you awake?"

they said at the same time.

derek repeated the question with more authority.
"why are you awake?"

stiles swallowed. intimidated by the man regardless of his woolly sweater, joggers and tea.

"couldn't sleep... you?"

derek didn't answer his question, instead opted for growling.

"i don't care if you couldn't sleep. stay in your room"

stiles nodded although inside he was furious.
how was it fair that after all he had done he was being treated like a child? literally being sent to his room and basically grounded.

stiles snatched up the book on were foxes and brushed passed the alpha. his usual scent hit stiles' nose, normally it comforting in a really weird way but it smelt like guilt and sadness.

stiles shook his head, that can't be right... guess he wasn't getting control of his sense of smell. maybe scott would help him in the morning.

he headed back to his room but not before grabbing another energy drink.

in his room he put on a random movie but focused most his attention on the book. he wanted to know everything there was to know about himself. he had to find out more.
